8:53 Actually the Cossacks have a long beef with nobility. It was particularly evident under the Polish rule, when peasants from all over the Commonwelth would flee to the stepps to escape feudal bonds. Them not having nobility definitely makes sense.

Wrong. There were nobles among cossacks. All of Zaporozhian hetmans were exclusively representatives of noble houses recognized by poles and russians and many officers (starshyna) vere nobles as well.

    • @unnamedshadow1866
      @unnamedshadow1866 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

@@sho6498 not really, in theory, just like in everything humans have been involved, there will be those with power and those without.
Among the Cossacks. The term nobility, was more about influence, military experience and most importantly how good the guy was at making other Cossacks get rich from plunder.
Just like there was nobility among the Mongols, there was a sort of nobility among the Cossacks.
But this nobility was based more on personal achievements and plunder, than on blood.
Also at the end of the day the Cossacks also knew that serving that purpose would make them richer than standing against the Tzardom.
Its why they expanded to fast to the East. Pure Greed and desire of riches.

Believe it or not, there is a difference between returning cores by just selecting them in the "cede provinces" window or if you do it from the "core return" window. If you take cores from "core return" it costs less warscore but gives you more aggressive expansion, and if you take cores from "cede provinces" it will cost more warscore but give less aggressive expansion.

Not always important but still - return core from the peace deal menu will give some +relation towards you for the nation you've returned cores to. It might be good to improve your own vassals of course, but sometimes - to achieve enough relation with third nation to secure an alliance that is otherwise impossible or prevent strong nation to enter a coalition. Obviously this is not Zaporozhye specific thing and circumstantial, just keep in mind as an extra source of opinion🙏

This is true most of the time but if your subject has Diplomatic ideas and age bonus of war score vs other religions you can take more land by giving it to the subject in the Peace deal. I gave byz most of the Balkans from ottomans in one war but not the two states I already took.

Return core province costs less AE but more warscore. It's only relevant specifically if you are going for cores of multiple nations. You can only take cores without paying diplo points for the nation you declared the war over. So if you had multiple subjects with cores, you can only take provinces directly with no diplo cost of the nation that had the cores you declared over. So "return core" is mostly only relevant for saving diplo points, which I'm fairly sure Hawk does not care about

    Great video man!❤
This one can get OP, one of my most delightful games ever, but it requires sooooo much RNG and care for a good start...many times Lithuania force convert you, many times Otto's would not support independence, sometimes you just got going and muscovy is nah I take all of you bro. Many different random setbacks can occur.
But with good power base circa 1500 it can become a monstroucity. After many tries I came to the conclusion it is worth to reset if Otto's won't support you and when they do - try maintain their alliance for as long as possible (they WILL want some of your land) - so focus Lithuania,Muscovy,Teutons,Poland,Sweden even...and try obtain Bohemia as ally too asap after getting freedom. Try form Ruthenia asap too (keeping sich rada of course) and absorb Muscovy in several wars. Once you do a good run of the first 70-80 years it becomes great great fun. In the mid 1500's I had enough power to start Otto dismantle. And by absolutism it was already unstoppable.
The raze,Ortodox and republic combo is crazy and real fun to play
    Again thanks for the video:)❤
P.S. on eu4 pause since 50 days....these videos are like nicotine band for me😂😂😂

the sich rada is one of *the* best cav-focused governments in the game, especially if you grab aristo before getting it. the ability to get both aristocartic and horde is so good!

Just as a interesting tidbit about the name. It translates to Transhornland or Transhornia. It denotes a geographic area adjacent to the Dniepr/Dnipro river as the shape resembles a horn.

That is incorrect. The name "Zaporizhzhia" means "Over the 'porih' (the edge of the river)". I appreciate trying to tell interesting facts, but it's improper to be as shallow as just retelling direct, technical translations.

That’s the issue of English language, there’s no difference between russsky or rossiisky, where one of them refer to kyivan rus and another to modern russia. In English you say only “russian” and it could have two meanings by only one word. That’s only the problem because some illiterate people can speculate by that
