    As someone who can use CAD and owns a 3d printer, the idea that I could design my own part and then attach it to my multi tool is mind blowing. This capability alone might 2x the rate of innovation in this space, since a bunch of hobbyists can start making bespoke tools. Really excited to see where this goes, thank you for bringing innovation to this space!! (Already preordered ofc)

I also cut hard welding wire every day all day and use pliers all day long. I like the scales to make the pliers more comfortable. Glad to see these are starting to ship out! I am very excited to receive mine. I do have a question though Micheal, are there any concerns with the leaf spring release mechanism being where ones hand usually resides when using a sharp tool? • @GOATTools
      @GOATTools ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All of our sharp tools are designed so when using their edge, the force applied is towards the open position (much like most folding pocket knives). We have not encountered any inadvertent closing of tools. Since the outer tools & frame do not engage the lock, only the shorter inner tools, you have to press the inner tools specifically.

    Supported the Indiegogo campaign and received my GOAT multi-tool about 2 weeks ago. The first time I tried to deploy the knife it snapped at the base and fell off. Contacted the manufacturer and had to pay for a replacement (something like $15 shipped) for a replacement part that I'd not yet ever even used. This video makes it look/seem as though you can flip open any of the implements like butter. Guess again! Clumping I believe is the term that's used. Try to open the knife, scissors, (insert any other item here) and pretty much all of the tools on that side of the multi -tool will also come out....certainly not like in this video where it appears that a simple thumb flick will open whatever it is you're looking for.
    I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for the time being, but even only owning it for a couple of weeks I can tell you that I've returned back to my trusty Victorinox, and even a cheaper Leatherman.
    "Hot swapping" is nowhere near as smooth or simple as shown in this video. Hence the need for them to send out an email update to us supporters suggesting we watch this very video so as not to break their quote-unquote hot swappable items.
    Again, I'll give it some time before I decide if this was a good purchase, but out of the gate I have some very serious concerns.
