I really love the shell casing with the feathers, that's awesome. What's awesome is that the music is still good at 2x speed. Great video! Glad I found your channel.
I'm dating myself a little but I watched Randall tie these in the Tigard, OR shop some 33 years ago! its a fly made to do one thing catch trout! I still have about a half a dozen that he tied, they are a sort of keepsake now since Kaufmann Streamborn is well gone now! Its my stone fly pattern of choice, black and brown work the best were I live, # 10 and 12! For the little black stone fly that hatches early in the Spring, I tie a slimmer version on 14 and 18 nymph hooks! Going to Argentina to fish and to shoot doves are two things on my bucket list!
another masterpiece! it's gonna take me a minute to get this to even look as good. thanks for the ty my friend! never used jelly rope? that's on my list. and they way you fashioned that hook gives it more life.
Hook: TMC 5263 o TMC 300 o similar size 6 to 14 Thread: UNI 8/0 , Danville 6/0 o UTC 70, black. Weigth: lead wire o lead tape, optional. Under body: mono nylon, same diameter of the hook wire. Tail and antennae: goose biots. Abdomen: hare tron dubbing and angora goat dubbing, mix in equal parts. Rib: vinil rib, larva lace o swannundaze. Wing cases: sections of turkey tail feathers, lacquered. Torax / head: same abdomen. Note: for made the Kaufmann Stone I prefer use a “coipo” dubbing, the coipo is a patagonian otter. It has a spectacular fur with guard hairs that allow amazing effects in large nymphs. Dyed or natural to contrast guard hairs and coat achieves a great look. Black, browns and grays are the best colors. This fly created by Randall Kaufmann is for me one of the best examples of balance between realism and impressionism in a copycat fly, no element in its design removes feeling of life and texture and provide a very good aspect of realism. Since its appearance was the archetype imitator stone fly nymph and in my case in particular made a great impression and represent a great influence on the concept of what should be a fly for fishing. There are variants of this fly with metal beads heads and rubber legs that seek to contribute even more effectively to fly one of the best ever designed. Patagonian environments in the most effective colors are black, dark brown, gray and hares ear.
@@rubenmartinflies never watched your vids. This fly is a masterpiece, probably well beyond my abilities as someone who ties perdigons, pheasant tails and Higa’s sos patterns for about 7 months now. I’m assuming the format and music are your thing? If not, I could think of nothing better than hearing what you’re doing and little tips you clearly do as second nature & of course what the materials are (as you shared above). I tried to get spray varnish & my fly shop guys had never heard of it. Do you get it online or at Hobby place? Best.
@@Morgs914 hi buddy, i dont speak on mi videos because im from Argentina and i speak spanish, you can use transparent polish nails for the feather. Best regards my friend
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I'd put it right in the rocks where it would look good among all the real stoneflies and that's where it would end up ;)
Hi Buddy, we have to use the music that youtube gave us for free, because if i had to pay for music for every video i probably dont have the chance to upload any video, so i try to show ho to tie the flies and of course you can mute and put the music you like for tying flies. Have a nice day

Thanks for Sharing My Friend!
Thanks Freddy, its a must have pattern if you like nymph fishing. Best regards!
Beautiful!!
Thanks buddy!

Tremendo trabajo !!!!!!!!
Gracias!!
Génial bravo
Music got me hyped about to make 20 of these lol
Gracias Adrian, abrazo grande!
Beautiful fly, but is it durable, how many fish would it take to destroy it? I couldn't bring myself to lose them even if I tied them.
Hi Buddy, the same as any fly, a woolly bugger if the fish have big teeth will destroy in one strike. Best regards
Magnifique !
Thanks!!

Grande maestro un abrazo desde Chile.Puerto Montt.
Preciosa la Mosca Ruben. Gran trabajo.
Ruben Martin Flies Vale Gracias
Saludos
Why do you bend the hook to one side

Nice. What do you use for your hopper legs?

22 minutes on one nymph. Beautiful tie. I'd lose it on the first cast.

Hook holding tool bro

What’s with the music?
Are the songs we can use my friend, you can mute the music if you dislike. Best regards!
Awesome video and tie. BUT the repetitive musical drone drove me to mute

nice video great bugs, please change the music
Great video.....pretty annoying music though
