Man i love that they’re sprinkling info from the light novels in to give context to shit that was mostly confusing and misunderstood in the manga it makes the viewing experience more enjoyable when you can fully understand certain characters actions/intentions
Hopefully they do like a full flashback that would be awesome
and hopefully add more nuance with anime only scenes. I'd like to see more yuha lines, ishida ( especially in the last battle, his thoughts about what he did) , ichigo etc , and obsvly the famous courage speech in the end

Bleach thousand year blood war arc is one of those few instances that watching the anime is the right way to do this
They have added so much that was always missing. I love this. Its like beeing able to be amazed with new bleach things even though i have already read the manga
Yeah the Anime is definitely gonna be the definitive version of this arc but if you've read the manga before it really makes you appreciate the Anime adaption of this arc SO much more.
The continuity, the lore, not forgetting characters, hell even the pacing (for this cour going forward ik the last 2 were lightspeed) is truly spectacular, literally couldn’t have dreamed of them actually rewriting and fitting in missing pieces Kubo couldn’t or didn’t add bc of health issues etc, if this episode is any indication for how things will be handled in the last 3rd of this arc, the next 2 cours will be amazing

[Tidbits][lotta reading for those interested]
- This episode was loaded with new content that wasn’t in the Manga, the most important being the reveal of why Ichigo was so important towards Yhwach’s plans and also learning the Soul Kings' name “Adnyeus” (Plus the fight here is exclusive to the anime)
- We first saw this name mentioned last season during Yhwach’s chant for the Auschwallen technique. “...eye of agate, tongue of gold, skull cap, coffin of Adnyeus. This object we raise is your heart”. What’s interesting is that fans discovered that the name is possiblely a reference to “Adonai” a substitute phrase for the name “Yhwh”. This is important because Adonai means “made of god” and “eus” means “made of silver”.
(Without spoiling, Silver has an important role to play in regards to Yhwach as the Quincy King so keep this in mind) (Notice that Ryuken was holding small pieces of silver in his palm)
- Yhwach says “The more you turn your blade against me, the more you will fall into despair” This is because he can foresee the future, but the symbolic aim of this is to show how Yhwach embodies fate itself, do you raise your blade against what you believe to be set in stone? how can you and should you fight the inevitable?
- This episode shows us why Yhwach seemingly acted around Ichigo this entire time. Ichigo was a key part of the future he wanted to occur.
[I worded it that way for a reason because it’s slightly more complex, but the anime hasn’t quite delved into it]
- Many will likely question why Yhwach even deactivates his "Almighty" in the first place. I believe it's because he's trying to get Ichigo to see things his way and he’s gauging Ichigo’s improvement (That’s why he’s using the same moves he used during the 1st clash), plus if anything happens he can activate it at any time so it's a non-issue in his eyes.
- Sidenote: Fans speculate that Ichibei sent Ichigo ahead knowing that he’d be necessary to kill the Soul King.

1: The Almighty
Omniscient and Omnipotent
The power of Yhwach's holy letter "A". It allows him to see into the entire future, and when activated, multiple pupils appear in his eyeballs. Yhwach considers his eyes, which have manifested their power
to be "proof of being a true Quincy", and he can "know" everything he sees, and take and give away the "power" he knows. There is no room for "understanding" or "countermeasures" to intervene.
2: Triplet World
The three worlds of the Child and the Paradise of Sand were separated, separating "life" and "death." Three worlds, Soul Society, the present world, and Hueco Mundo, separated from the world of spirits,the vessel and the primordial sea by the existence of the foundation that controls the flow and the wedge of the world. Manga Readers had a real treat with the extra Ichigo vs Yhwach fight sequence. The entire thing didn't even happen in the manga, Yhwach simply unveiled the already impaled Soul King and Ichigo sliced the crystal thing in half. that was all we got in the manga

It’s interesting because at this point in the manga, we still didn’t know Ywbach’s motivations. The added context makes these moments much better and I can’t help but feel that the Fullbring arc and Ginjo in particular could have used this treatment.
Yeah Ginjo is soooo much more than what people think he is.
Tidbits if you’re interested
The most important thing in this cour is that it's pulling many things that were implied or outright stated in Can't Fear You Own World(CFYOW) The Soul King Andyeus was a being like what you see with the Hogyoku transformation. He was the first being in the primorial world to be like a case with Ichigo. He had all the powers and aspects of souls from the 3 realms, and like you saw in the last cour with Ichigos training in the Irazu Sando with Ichibei allows Ichigo to see the eternal memories of the "original world"
The original world will continue to be a big point of conflict. As the story of Bleach is a conflict of religions.
The Shinigami are representations of Shinto-Buddhsit-Daoist elements of philosophy/religion.
The Quincies represent the Western view of the world. I.e Gnosticism/Abrahamic religion.
It's why the Quincies also have a Nazi theme to them as well if you didn't already notice.
The whole point of this arc is that Yhwach wants the world to be like what you saw in the flashbacks in this episode. That primorial world that cosmic ontological ocean of existence and soul. No boundaries (different worlds and laws) and thus no life or death. Which means no pain or suffering.
Ywach wants the world created by the ancestors to the 5 grand royal families to be severed and destroyed since it's the source of what he views as evil, pain, suffering and sin.
This makes sense when you look at the world in Bleach. You have 3 realms all living in fear of death.
To understand fully, you have to do literary analysis and look at Eastern Philosophy
In the East, specifically in terms of Buddhism, the primary struggle facing people is the cultivation of self and freeing themselves from the cycle of samsara. Those who selfishly pursue things will be forced to endlessly reincarnate and thus, continue to experience "dukka"(suffering) and "anatta" (impermance) until they let go of the five aggregates of Buddhism.
In Confucianism, You have a humanist centered philosophy, that espouses, the flourishing of society as being the best good. Anything deviating from this or the virtues of a enlightened individual in society leads to the imbalance and gives the impression of "Evil". that is Specifically to "way of the gentlemen" are benevolence (ren 1), righteousness (yi f&), ritual propriety (li i), wisdom (zhi E), and trustworthiness (xin 15).
However, in Shintoism, there is a struggle and balancing of kegare ("pollution" or "impurity"), while ensuring harae ("purity"). Which contradicts some Buddhist ideas of the non-self(atman)
In Daoism, you have the Cosmic Yin and Yang. Which is Dialectical monism, also known as dualistic monism. This is not to be confused with just monism(the idea that reality is built on things of a material substance, like atomism). This is a special case of ontology (study of being) where the forces represent themselves, as perceptions in the realm of the minds, not substantive nature. It's also merely an illusion like Buddhism.
In Daoism, they practice "wu wei" and forms of partaking in Dao(or Tao) there is human dao, natural dao and great dao.
But tying back to Bleach in simple terms.
Ywach (Juha Bach) is trying to create the original world which is like the Western interpretation of Heaven or an eternal persistent world. This should make thematic sense, since Juha Bach is basically a allusion to the Abrahamic god. He has the Messiah theme and since he's the son of the "Soul King" this is similar to the Holy Trinity.
The Soul reapers are trying to maintain the cycle of Samara from Buddhism which is responsible for the wheel of life, death and reincarnation.
It’s a battle for the best possible worlds

The conflict between the Soul Reapers and Quincy is less of a "Good vs. Evil" conflict and more of a clash between two different ideas of what the world should be. And yes, it is right to not think of the Soul Reapers as "The Good Guys". They series emphasizes on several occasions that the Soul Society is very flawed. They are just the faction that Ichigo is allied with, so the story tends to show them as the more sympathetic group, compared to the other races. Still, it is telling that they are the cause of every main villain and conflict in the story...

Yhwach's motivations were always lightly implied during the manga, as other have probably said and will say, there’s quite a bit of additions and changes at Kubo's input and suggestions as well as the anime director collaborating with him, so you're doing really well picking up more of his character as well as the conflict here but the motivations and history was so in the air during the original release. I think the anime has rectified that and will continue to, as well as really hammering in the stakes of this arc
Also Ichibei isn't necessarily using them as a distraction, more like an acceptance of how peace is a pendulum that swings both ways

So this is speculation, but it is very likely that Aizen wanted Ichigo to exist in the way that he does so that he could use him to get rid of the soul king as well. Remember, Aizen is aware of the soul king. Aizen feels he should be at the top of everything. Knowing Aizen, he probably knew of this unique barrier the soul king had because he just always knows stuff. So buffing Ichigo and planning the events for him to be born as a quincy/hollow/soul reaper/etc makes sense.
Aizen didn't need Ichigo for the Soul King. He already had the Hogyoku, and based on the information we got from the series, databook, etc, Aizen would've achieved his goal without Ichigo. Ichigo was just his own experiment out of curiosity and to fill his loneliness unconsciously
@muchoyurdem5260 yeah but it ichigo was intended to help his loneliness and he longed for someone to share his view at the top, wouldn't it then make sense to bring him to the palace to fulfill this desire? He would fulfill multiple desires then. Use ichigo to break the barrier ywach declared was only breakable through ichigos unique lineage, and either have him as barely an equal or use him as a key before discarding him.
Or perhaps aizen didn't want to destroy the soul king but to merely wipe out squad zero and rule from up there. Maybe siphon soul kings power or something. Idk. It's just speculation. Maybe you're right.
@GodofGoblins Again, the loneliness part was unconsciously. He obviously didn't want to be defeated. Or was specifically planning for Ichigo to be his rival. That just happened naturally and after, because of his plans of creating the Hogyoku, becoming a greater being, and overtaking the Soul King.
And like i said too he doesn't "need" Ichigo to achieve his goal = the first one, which was to overtake the Royal palace and Soul King.

Who in the hell tried to debate the opening this season to not contain spoilers it showed so much even with no context of what will happen it showed a lot of characters alive and well that otherwise you could assume we're dead or in serious trouble along with some characters etc. without getting into spoilers myself even to someone not reading the manga that intro was spoiler filled AF.
