- In today's episode of Bet Vlogs, we talk about local branded sneakers and streetwear! We'll zero in on the offers by a couple like DBTK, Hundred Percent, Secret Fresh, and World Balance.

Filipino street wear brands have a lot of potential. I just hope they release an original design instead of blatantly copying big name brands. Inspiration is there but in my opinion, they can use that inspiration to feed their creativity and create something we can truly call our own.
Ano po feel nung shoes? Does it feel "authentic"? Or does it feel yung mga Class A/S na shoes?
I think the brand is the only local thing here, but the sneakers were obviously manufactured in China-where reps are also made (referring to The Hundred Percent and DBTK). Imagine not promoting the replica sneakers, but you promote these bootleg rip-offs, it's the same thing though, but you all tend to justify. They might be sued by Nike since thay are using their silhouette patent, same thing as what happened to BAPE, Warren Lotas, and others.

agree, bootleg ripoff nike shoes na nilagyan ng "story" locally made/support local chuchu etc.also hndi nman sila mapapansin if hndi mga sikat na brand yung ginaya nila.

@@jianui The point is that these 'local' brands uses Nike's silhouette patent without their permission. All of these crappy bootleg sneakers are obviously manufactured in an unlicensed Chinese factory-this is also the same factory where OEM and UA sneakers are being made. The difference is that these "sneakerheads" shamelessly promote this kind of rip-offs, but not the replica ones. They are just covering up the truth by saying words like "it is Filipino made" or "support local product" just to convince you.
By the way, 51% of Nikes are Made in Vietnam, and only 21% are Made in China. So it is safe to say that Nike nowadays aren't generally Made in China-just a reminder :)
I have the Impulse 1 and SK8 Blaite from The Hundred Percent. Sana in the future maka-isip din sila ng own designs nila para hindi lagi kadugtong ng feedback sa shoes nila yung AF1 at Dunk Low. Comfortable yung SK8 Blaite nila so kung makakagawa sila ng own design using those materials, malaki possibility na mas maging matunog brand nila.
True yung mga local brand has very good and no need na makipag sabayan sa mga big brands keeping your brand organic and true.
Kool kiy? Hundred percent should have changed their logo on the "swoosh" but not gonna lie.. they released a lot of fire colorways and collabs.. I love the interchangable "swoosh" you get to personalize it.. i bought a pair myself.. un nga.. cant help to compare them to kool kiy more than Nike coz of the logo.. hope they do something about this.. ✌️peace and more power.. lets support local.. 💯
Unang dapat improve sa sneakers ng THP is yung STITCHING. Perfect na sana. Kaso yung stitching talaga di pantay pantay. Yes mura lang yung shoes, pero stitching is madaling i-perfect yan ng shoemaker eh. So sana maimprove yun. Kasi sa materials you can adjust talaga para mapababa yung cost, pero yung skills sa stitching, I think you can do better than that.

Kinda off with the THP. The design is very knockoff. Even the lightning logo was copied, it's very omi. Its just the brand name that is local here🤷🏽 sorry for the Thp fans. Just sharing my opinion ✌🏼

elementary days (90's) pa lang, may world balance na. yan ang shoe brand ko after mighty kid. subok na yan' local brand na yan. may quality at matagal nang part ng conversation. sana may bumuhay din ng mighty kid shoes sa mga local brand. ;-)
Sana makapaglabas sila ng sarili nilang branding talaga specially sa silhouette ng sneakers nila and not copying other brands. Other than that, napakasolid ng mga kicks nila. I own a pair of THP x MSTR and they're fire on feet. 🔥

@@markhoben5215 makapal parin swelas. Di ko kasi siya sinusuot lagi dahil ksama siya sa rotation ng iba kong shoes kaya cguro ganun. So far, goods pa naman, may slight heel drags lang kasi makaskas talaga ako maglakad haha.

They aren't made in the Philippines though. Still manufactured in China. Just saying.
I dont mind spending 5-6 digits for shoes that are originally created and designed, rather than support some company without creativity and lure the sneaker market with their cheaper prices. Sa umpisa lang nila yan ibebenta nang mura. Pag madami na silang benta, they will increase their price even if their shoes are just a bunch of knockoffs.

I agree. Iba rin sizing nila. Yung World Balance na size 13 na US, fits small unlike sa international brands na same size.

Mas okay pa to kesa sa fake na fake na Nike na parang proud kapa naka Jordans pero fake naman. For me start lng nila to mag aadapt dn sila to avoid lawsuit and problems sa kanilang business. I want a pair to try it pero mahirap kumuha! More power sa local brands & Good luck!

I’m happy about the Filipino brand sneakers but the design is a copy of Nike sneakers which is right now ang dami ng ibang brands na hinabol ng Nike like Bape. Maganda ang invictus though May inspiration sa Yeezy 700 Pero ibang iba yung Silhouette.

i really do understand the tactics of these local brands para makasabay eh pero cant blame the people kung masabihan na kinopya lang which is obvious naman pero good starters narin kasi locally may mabibili quality na mura na hawig ni nike sa murang halaga marami kasi nag attempt noon na local brands na hindi nagtagumpay like the anarkyzt brand kaya kanya kanyang tactics din talaga kasi dun sila sa gagana na strategy who knows soon makaisip din sila ng talagang designs nila kaso yung utak ng iba Kasi nakulong sa designs ng mga sikat na sneakers like dunks,af1, J1's, as for me business nila yan bibili ako to see it myself👍

How can these local brands compete when they do not even have an original touch nor creativity with their designs? Maybe for the local market, papatok sila because they are the cheaper alternatives. But if they want to go global, they better create their own distinctive design, and not just copy the hype, alter it a little, and incorporate a "story" just to make it look unique

Filipino sneakerheads dont like marikina shoes even if they have greater quality and longevity than most hype sneakers. Maybe its time for these so-called local "influencers" on social media to hype up marikina shoes, and not just praise some local copycats with no creativity
