I have a brake light out and it’s a fuse. I can not understand the fuse system under the hood. I have a 1998 323IS 2 door sedan in prestige condition that was my cousin’s car and has 55,000 miles on it. Can you help me?

There is always a diagram which can be hard to figure out if you are not used to it. First off how do you know it's a fuse & not the light bulb in the lamp assembly? Do you have a code/message on the dash? I'll try & walk you thru it. ;)

I changed the light bulbs and they are fine and I do have a message on my control panel.

I own a 1997 BMW 328i convertible. Of late i have been having tail light failure, check owners manual,brake circuit failure etc on my OBC. I replaced both tail light assembly with OEM new units but the OBC still shows the same. Please advise me on what could be the problem and how do i remedy the problem.

+Kannan Nair If all new assembly & bulbs does not turn off the message, next have to start checking the wiring that runs back to the brake module & ck control center. I do not have specific instructions on doing this, maybe a factory service manual.

H Froggy, sorry to trouble you again but in addition to check brake circuit ,check owners manual, i have another issue. When these warnings do not appear at times, tail light failure comes out when i switch on my headlights. Is this also connected to the brake light switch, Please advise.

+Kannan Nair Well they are different filaments on the bulb of course. It's "possible" in the convoluted way that BMW engineers things, that there is a connection, but I am not 100% sure. Sorry.

Start by checking the brake pedal (lights) switch, it may be broken to be "stuck on" all the time.

my 1999 E36 said 1 break light fail so I check the light n yes it was the driver side light so I change the bulb n it still not on. Can any one please help me what the problem is?

Clean the contacts for the bulb really good & make sure there is TENSION on the contacts.

I don't have this car anymore. Are the fuses the ones with two little blades for contacts? Different colors for fuse sizes? If yes you should be able to look VERY CLOSE maybe with a good flashlight and a magnifying glass and see if there is a broken fuse element (little wire running thru the top) . Look at some good ones & you may see one that the wire is melted/broken.
