This is Lithograph called " Mokurito " or "Mokulito".
I would like to make one correction.
Where I used the word petrol, should actually have been Paint Thinner.
So please do not use petrol in place of Paint Thinner. It is potentially very dangerous if petrol be used.

Wow! Right from the beginning of the video, it was clear this was a very clever and special process. With my own limited experience with traditional stone lithography, I was really impressed by the ingenuity of adapting the process to wood, like the casein pre-coating, the petrol in the paper, the foot printing, and the unique visual effect of the wood grain in the final image. I see there are lots of newer videos on your channel as well, I will definitely check them out because I really loved how clearly everything was explained. Thank you very much!
I am very happy that you watched the video so carefully.
With the paper dampening I used white spirits. In Japan, White Spirits is sold under the product Name "Petrol". It is for oil painting. In Japan, gasoline is not called petrol, so I made a translation mistake. Kerosene and paint thinner can also be used. Please visit Mokulito LIVE again.
You are good at showing people how to use their hands. That’s a sign of excellent teaching.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you said that.
This is perfect... thanks for translating it!
Thank you very much !!!♥️
Gracias por sus enseñanzas
Thank you for your comment. I have recently published a book on mokulito techniques. It is a book with a simple translation in English. amzn.asia/d/09sCEZYE
@@mokulitoLIVE I said: "thank you for your teachings". I'm from Colombia, South America. I'm going to check your book. Thanks again
Is this called Mokulito? I think moku comes from 木版画 and lito from lithography. Hmmm, verry cool
Thanks a lot for your comment😊 Please watch Mokulito LIVE 51 and 75 as this is a video I made a long time ago and there are errors in the translation.
木リトの工程が理解できました!ありがとうございます!
観ていただきありがとうございました。
2008年に作成した動画を2017年に公開しました。近々、カゼインをもっと早く溶かすやり方をUPいたしますので是非また観てください(^o^)
excellent video thank you!!!
Thank you, You made me so happy!
Thanks for your video and technic! Do you think that's possible to use the same process using a photocopy transfer to the wood, instead of drawing with pencils?
I think that is possible. I have also used a photocopy before.
I think the result depends on the type of wood, the way of sizing and the ink condition, etc.
Please try it and enjoy it.
I love this process. I just wonder what is the function of the casein? And why do you dampen your paper with kerosene?
I am very glad that you are interested.
The casein solution is for give a slight waterproof effect.
To prevent excessive penetration of water into the wooden board, we undercoat casein solution.
By doing so, it seems that inking on the drawing part gets better and printing becomes easier.
There are several ways of waterproofing, one of which is casein.
The reason why adding kerosene emulsion a little to water is to make printing possible with foot pressure.
It seems that the result is better than dampening only with water.
But be careful of the fire, ventilation is also necessary.
I would be happy if you could try it if you like.
It can be made with oil crayons if you use your foot press.
Lo podrían haber titulado!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sí tiene subtitulos!!
Muchas gracias.

The sizing solution, Petrol I assume is gasoline. Can any other solvent, like mineral spirits, or paint thinner, be used instead?
The emulsifier used to moisten the paper and which I use in my videos is White Spirits.
In Japan, there is a product for oil painting called "Petrol", which is white spirit. However, Mr. Ozaku taught me to use kerosene, which is a slower volatile oil. In my experience, kerosene, white spirits, and paint thinner can all be used. By the way, Sizing on plywood is casein liquid.
Thank you very much.
@@mokulitoLIVE THANKS
やっっぱり、凄い❣️
どうもありがとうございます💕情報が古いのですが、、。紙湿しには灯油では無くペトロール(ホワイトスピリッツ)かペイント薄め液をオススメいたします。
Excelente!!!!
Thank you very much😊
Please use WHITE SPIRIT for paper moistening for foot pressure printing. There is a mistranslation and it is WHITE SPIRIT that is used here. If the paper is thin, it can be moistened with water only.
Arigatou😍
Thank you very much 🤗
ammonia water? how much ammonia and how much water?
Ammonia water is a product diluted with water.
Concentration seems to vary by product. Therefore, adjust the amount of ammonia to see if casein dissolves in water.
Please note that high concentrations are highly irritating to the eyes.
Mokulito LIVE 51 also explains how to do this. Please have a look.
