Actually it's a historic game only when they win. When they lose, it's just the germans being germans.
The reason germany won that final against a incredible Hungary side was because Adidas invented studs just before this world cup and Adidas is ofcourse from Germany and they gave shoes with studs to the germans right before the world cup final. This was a massive advantage that helped them win over a Hungary side that won against them in the group stage 8-3.
Great fact, I’ve looked up the 1954 World Cup final a decent amount and never heard of that. If puskas had those adidas cleats he might’ve had 6 goals in that game💀

Both teams gave the world 90 minutes of beautiful and exiting football
With the golden hungarian team that was dominating the game with their modern football and in the other side the german team who were the underdogs of that tournament.. they didnt have other weapon than fighting the invincible hungary with courage ( and luck) they managed to get back in the score after conceiding 2 goals in the first 10 minutes just imagine the mental force they had to return cuz in the start they had no chance against hungary
Their keeper turek who survived WW2 ( and still had a bullet in his skull) was a substitute in the whole tournament but he was given a chance in the final..he played his last ever game and made an unbelivabale performance
Their captain Fritz Walter who had a malaria desease and was a sentenced to death but saved by a hungarian soldier and crushed hungary wc dreams later..helped by fate
Puskas late goal who was cancelled
All those made this final the greatest ever..The miracle of bern
But still hungary deserved to win it was a robbery
Man U vs Bayern Munich, final ucl 1999 you can claim it bayern victory because 90 minutes they plays superior. But the result? Man U the champions with only 3 minutes late goal, because they never give up. Anything can happen in football.

OMG the 1954 final: 3 goals in the first 10 min. 4 in the first 18. Hungary hit the bar twice. One "Banks-like" save from each GK. THAT clearance off the line. A dubious offside decision. People say the 2022 final is the greatest of all time, but I don't think enough footage from 1954 exists to do that final justice. It really was a day when the stars and planets aligned for Germany, on top of the vitamin shots and superior boots ;)

Not 1978. That was the worst world cup final ever alongside 1934. It was literally rigged. Also 2022 had some horrible officiating like the penalty for Argentina and the second penalty for France( Upamecano used his hand )

1966 and 1978 Finals considered the best? Not really. Both were fixed.
England won the 1966 because of the infamous "ghost goal" by Geoff Hurst.
Argentina won the 1978 because the referee paid important games to be won by the host.

1966 was also controversial because of "Phantom Goal". England should never won the World Cup. The third goal is not really correct.
@@ezraezra2928 the shot angled backwards off the crossbar and likely crossed the line. It was a very close call, unlike Lampard's goal and the criminal Hand of god which were clearly stolen from England.
