I watched the film ‘Shut up and Play the Hits’ and it seems like James Murphy seemed to have conflicting feelings about it as well. He says he’s not sure if “not wanting to be too famous” is a good enough reason to end the project and there’s a scene in which he takes one final look at all of their equipment before it’s sold off and he starts crying. From interviews I’ve read it also seems that he wanted to get the band back together for a while, but he thought it would be uncomfortable before David Bowie finally convinced him. All of this combined with how happy he seemed during this final performance makes me think that maybe he regretted it pretty much instantly.
1:31 I love how James Murphy just decides at the last minute not to introduce them as Arcade Fire, classic
greatest crossover ever. arguably the best and most influential bands of the late 00’s playing this banger together.
Will Butler just looks so happy to be there, does he realize he's in Arcade Fire too?
That bass line. So simple yet effective.
I love that everybody on stage is having FUN. They are up there just having the time of their lives!!
This song is clearly about Canadians.
How come this does not have more views!!!! This is amazing!
Can't stop watching Nancy.
Man this somehow manages to struck me right at the core.
this is insane. their very best. I can never forget
I would do unspeakable things to see them play this live again.
And a member of Hot Chip
What a mix!
Love the part where the chick says "sorry". The whole song is awesome, the base line is sensational, but I don't know why, that sticks out.
Increíble .... Éxtasis
Hell yeah!
With stage presence and chemistry like that, it is a wonder they ever decided to split up (I’m very glad it wasn’t permanent!)

If these guys did this song with The Hives, I have a feeling that Howlin' Pelle Almqvist would literally supernova.
