    I have a 30" corset that I love. She definitely knows my body so well and I certainly love her. But I've lost weight and she's only providing about 2-3" or reduction. So I'll probably be ordering a 26" soon. But this info is good to know because I never truly seasoned my 30" correctly and I popped all the boning and a busk. It is a nightmare. I truly recommend seasoning your corset well because it causes a lot less trouble for the future.

    This is super helpful. I dont think I would have known where to start had I not been pointed towards your videos by (I think it was Katie from What Katie did to tell you the truth) someone. I am wearing it first time today. Its snug but not tight. I have worn a medical brace before so knew what to expect. This is much more comfortable as I can still breathe whilst maintining a nice upright position. I found bending easier in this too...of course the medical one had 1/2 inch steel struts not bones so its different but I am glad I knew what to expect. Thank you again for all your advice. I am in the UK so I ordered a steel boned mesh waspie online here. I dont even know if you ship abroad but thats for the future. Keep safe!

    I may have laced my underbust corset a little too tight for my first wear during seasoning (after tightening after 45 minutes). I don't see any damage, and it fit my body very well. I don't see any warping or breakage, just very gradual curvature in the boning. Should I still be worried, or just continue seasoning it (but more loosely/carefully)?

    • @orchardcorset

    Cheri, I have been breaking in my new 411 corset in for just over a week now, going from 2 hours a day to now 5 hours a day and just really taking my time. I am now down an inch in my corsetting which is nice. However, as you mentioned in your video, I have a small gap at the underbust. I can get rid of it somewhat by lacing tighter, but then wind up with this horrible protrusion of back fat behind me. Unsightly!
    Does this ever go away, or do I have too short of a torso for even this model?!

    JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR ! I i have a hard time trying to go into my cs426, and like what you said the top and the bottom is empty and im so worried.I have a big tummy and i though that was the reason. Was also wondering if its tight enough ? should i pull more at the top and bottom so that it will hug my shape more? (i find the bottom and top string are not tight enough?) How long will this cs426 take to season? The front metal is abit in the way and i have a hard time sitting down :(

  • @agentredfbi9626
    @agentredfbi9626 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Okay so I just got mine today and I tightened it to me and I know you said it shouldn't be snug until you season it but I seem to have a lot of room up top and down at the bottom and I can't hide it under my clothes very well. I've already had to return the first one because it was too big so this one is currently two sizes smaller than what I measured at. Do I need to go smaller

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. I recently purchased the blue denim cs-331... The purpose I need it for is waist training, did I buy the wrong one for my first corset? I found that I have to slip it on instead because it doesn't have the front busk. And the front buckles are for adornment only can I just leave them unbuckled while I waist train? Also, is there something we can't do with the corset on? Laying down or bending down is ok to do? Sorry about all the questions!

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is not a reason you cannot waist train in that corset, but the closed busk does make it more of a challenge. You will learn to bend from the legs :). Laying (or even sleeping) in your corset is fine. We don't recommend you work out in your corset.

    I always compared seasoning a corset to restringing & tuning a guitar. With both, you take time for them to adjust before adding more tension.

    If one is starting out in waist training, and has already broken in the corset, how many inches should one cinch-down in the corset from the natural waist? I'm not referring to goals, but am talking about the cinch-down from the natural waist to the corseted waist (in first starting out with waist training).

    • @orchardcorset

      Once the corset is seasoned...whatever is comfortable for you. That will be different for everyone as some people or more firm and others more soft, some have more length to work with and different tolerances.

  • @XRaykaX
    @XRaykaX 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    For corset seasoning, do you have to season a corset every time on each buy? What if you've already been through corset training, have the shape of your old corset and bought a new one (not of a different size, but different color/pattern, or maybe just renewing it, or something?); would you have to season this new one just as rigorously as the first?

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi XRaykaX, yes, you will have to season each new corset you get. You don't have the shape of your old corset, your old corset has YOUR shape, so any new corset you get will need to be seasoned to your unique curves. Hope that helps!

    Well I sort of messed up. I got the 411 in black cotton and wore it loose for about two hours, then tightened it some (could still fit my hand down through the front without mashing my stomach or pulling hard on the corset). I then got in bed to rest for two hours, planning to take it off. Slept for eight hours in my corset (on my back, never rolled around). I hope it will still end up fitting me.
    The corset doesn't have any obvious damage, but my shape isn't the same on my back as it is standing up. Could this event have ruined my poor corset? It's such a sturdy, cute little thing and I somehow already care about it.

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just be very diligent about seasonally properly. If you warped the boning in the back..that will not undue. It is best not to try and sleep in your corset (even for just a couple of hours) until it is fully seasoned :)

    • @ChelleEverett
      @ChelleEverett 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for your fast reply. When looking at the corset (in my hands, not on my body) the back boning is still straight. I'm glad I didn't ruin it the very first day I wore it.

My wedding dress has yet to come in, so I won't be able to try on my corset underneath before the 30 day return policy. My concern is that the corset will be apparent under my wedding dress. It is a mermaid style. Have you heard anyone having issues with it showing through?

      @lesliehyde 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably got too big of a size...... typically (at least according to the instructions that I got from my physical therapist)
      -if wearing for back support and are not chunky around the middle then go 2 inches below your natural waist size when sucking in your stomach and don't go past 1 inch gap left open.
      -if wearing for back support and are chunky then go 4 to 6 inches smaller (I'm chunky w/ a 42 waist and am in a 36 inch of the cs426 with hipties) and don't tie past 2 inches for gap, please keep grommets parallel to your spine...
      -if wearing for waist training and are not chunky go 4 inches below waist size and "season" (why season? why? makes ZERO sense as it ain't food.) appropriately but make sure grommets are parallel to the spine.
      -if wearing for waist training and are chunky could get away with 8 inches smaller but again, keep the grommets parallel to the spine when seasoning and when training down.

      No, you will definitely need more than a day to properly season your corset. It will season faster if you get a couple of wears in each day. Also corset fabric and fit will help determine how quickly it seasons as well.

    I have seasoned my corset, and today is the first day that I've worn my corset "tight" for corset training. When I sit down in the corset, I get quite a bit of mid back pain, but when I stand, my back doesn't hurt. The grommets in the back are parallel. Do you know what the problem might be?

      olivesandpaper hmmm. I don't know. I get what feels like muscle pain when I am breaking in a new corset (I think it's how straight I am sitting). but we never recommend wearing a corset if it causes actual pain...as opposed to some discomfort while your body and the corset get to know each other.

    Will these shoe under clothes? How long should you wear the corset? Do you have a model that can be slept in?

    • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under very fitted clothing, corsets can be tricky to hide. Easier if you buy our satin laces as they are less bulky. We have a blog on sleeping in your corset I recommend you read :) How long you wear your corset is a personal choice determined by your level of comfort and what your goals are. Some women wear them 18 hours or more a day and other just 4 or 5 hours.

I returned mom the next day and I told them this nothing but crap. this was just a waste of money but I did get my money back even though I had to pay for it to be shipped back to them. Would it be unhealthy for the corset in the breaking-in period if the wearer were to wear the corset for longer than two hours? • @orchardcorset

    I'm currently seasoning and I'm afraid that one side is bending more than the other because my right obliques are slightly more toned than my left so I have just the slightest bit more curvature. • @orchardcorset
      @orchardcorset  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone has differences from one side of their body to the other and they are typically only obvious to ourselves. ;) Don't worry about 'warping' the corset as the point of seasoning it is to mold it to the shape of your body and if you are shaped a little differently on one side, that is what the corset needs to do too!
