Eren Yeager is a force to be reckoned with. You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain. Given the circumstances though, can't really blame him for it.
As someone else has, I definitely highly recommend Steins;Gate and Re;Zero, as they are superb in delivering emotional scenes, just like Attack on Titan.
I like the focus of the lyrics of this. It highlights Isayama's original idea for the series, mainly it all starting with his frustration of living inside wall-like mountains as a child and wanting to see what's past them, which then became Eren's motivation.
That line “I’m taking every step with permission” is a direct callout to Eren. It’s saying that he has a damn good reason, and his actions are justified.
The series and this song really beg the question of whether or not it's better to know what's "beyond the walls." In Eren's case, he regretted it. When he heard there were more people, he was disappointed. Reality was that the whole world thought they were devils and the titans preventing them from leaving were just more of their own kind. It's like growing up and facing reality. Wishing we could just be ignorant of the real issues in the world again.
This song was so well done that I heard it on Spotify first. After the second time of listening to it I was like this has to be Attack on Titan themed. Fantastic job guys

Don’t get me wrong, this is great and all, but I just wish Nate would go back to his non-video game/anime original songs. I loved the entire Paid in Exposure album and Sandcastle Kingdoms had some serious bangers. I understand that this probably appeals more to people who wanna hear a bunch of fan songs, but I really miss the creativity he channeled into that original music

Oh, Attack on Titan is good. Definitely my second favorite. My favorite being Full Metal Alchemist. Both are masterpieces in my eyes.
