This movie means a lot to me because....I WAS IN IT!! I played an extra running through the streets while the monster was rampaging. It was so cool! I saw the main actors from a distance but there were so many people and the director was constantly shouting instructions through loud speakers, not to mention all the sound effects going off everywhere. It was loud, manic and we did a lot of running lol. The filming went on for hours late at night into the wee hours of the morning in sectioned off streets of Manhattan, not too far from Central Park. My scene was shot in one night but filming in that area went on for about a week, I think. Unfortunately, you can't see me but damn was that an experience! Glad you enjoyed it.

@@chrisofstars The nausea thing only happens if you're in an actual movie theater (it won't happen by watching something on your TV or computer). You keep moving away from the most mysterious movie you'll EVER see: close encounters of the third kind You keep going on about how aliens fascinate you Amber and that movie will make you BELIEVE that they're out there, like how ET did You need to refill your list with adventure movies The Narnia series and even Pirates of the Caribbean are great entries in that genre You still need to see Gladiator and the Sound of Music
A long while back, I believe Amber said she and her dad used to watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind when she was growing up. It was one of her dad's favorite movies. I think Jordan hasn't seen it yet. I hope they react to it. Amber can revisit the movie, while Jay can experience it for the first time. I suspect he'll love it. All these movies seem the same. I would love to see them react to something different, like Christopher Nolan's Memento. We're probably not going to get any Merchant and Ivory films, huh?
@@merlisalawrencecorbett1331 another good Nolan movie is The Prestige They can even do Dunkirk for Veteran's Day in a few months Merchant and Ivory movies probably aren't their speed
My old boss produced this movie! The summer before it’s release we were all at a wedding and I remember trying to get her assistant to spill ANY kind of info… “How’s the new Bad Robot Godzilla coming along??” Utter silence. To my credit I was kinda sorta right?
Beth was impaled by rebar through the shoulder, not her chest. The heart is in the center of our torso behind the sternum. A shoulder injury like hers can be dealt with as long as the brachial artery isn't hit. However, pulling her off of that rebar would be supremely difficult.
Thank you. I kept hoping Jordan would quickly realize he'd made a mistake. He had her being impaled through the heart _and_ dead. He was shocked to see her alive and able to move from a shoulder injury. Biology/anatomy, Jordan? 😁
The fact that it was just a baby is crazy. I do believe they are making yet another one of these at some point. Love the finale where you see it land in the water. 😊
In that clip at the end before it shows them on the Ferris wheel, you see the ‘monster’ fall from the sky into the ocean. It’s a quick 2-3 seconds, but it’s there (‘monster’ confirmed by Matt Reeves on the 15 year anniversary of the movie, not a satellite - production of paradox made things messy)
Also if i remember correctly, there's a bit of audio during the end credits, there's some radio static from the military with a muffled voice saying, "it's still moving".
@@mattb7479 I also seem to remember watching some videos that summed up all of the marketing campaign craziness and something was suggested about how the company not only knew that the sleeping monster was down there but they were harvesting some exotic substance it was secreting and they were putting it into their Slushee style drink that they were selling to the masses.
Yessssss! So glad you picked a sci-fi movie! Especially this one!! If you read this, go back and watch the ending credits. There's a very brief shot when they're at Coney Island, you can see a super quick image of the alien crashing into the water when they're riding the train car. It's super fast, blink, and you might miss it.
CLOVERFIELD is one of my favorite first person filming type movies, besides THE BLAIR WITCH. It's so good and it definitely gave me the anxiety too. Always so tense at the edge of my seat. lol
I'd still like to throw in my recommendations for Adventures in Babysitting and License to Drive. Two super fun 80's movies with KILLER soundtracks. The Skulls is a dramatic thriller, The Secret of My Success with the awesome Michael J Fox is hilarious - along with The Money Pit (Tom Hanks) and Big Business (Bette Midler). I think you would love ALL of these - and I would LOVE to see your reactions to them. Cheers and hugs from Ontario, Canada! :)
I didn't have time to watch this reaction - but honestly - was just trying to their attention. I've been recommending these for the past two years with no luck. At the time with only 6 comments - I thought Amber or Jay might see this - and put them on their list.
This is probably my favourite movie from the early 2000s, seen it many times. I still don't know how they filmed all those action scenes, and the broken building scenes, considering the natural look of the movie. My other favourite found footage franchise are the Paranormal Activity movies, except for the last one, which felt different to the others.
I saw this movie when it it dropped in Theaters, and it’s still to this day, one of my favorite movie experiences of all time! The brilliance of this film is just how realistic it feels! The CG they blended with the found footage style of film making was just crazy! I literally remember feeling like we were actually watching live footage of what was happening in New York, it was actually terrifying lol 😅 One of my favorite movies of all time! ❤️
I hope you watch "10 Cloverfield Lane." If you do, please remember that it's a standalone story that is NOT related to this one. Some reactors watch 10 Cloverfield Lane thinking it's a direct follow-up to this story, and as a result, none of the suspense or mystery of that movie works for them.
@@angelohernandez6060 - I heard it slightly differently. I thought that the only thing linking the two stories is that they have a similar "feel," like the Twilight Zone stories are linked by a similar feel. I frankly wish that "10 Cloverfield Lane" didn't even have "Cloverfield" in the title. It's clear that the audience is supposed to be wondering about various possibilities as the story unfolds - and that all gets ruined if the viewer just assumes that the two stories are consistent with one another.
You're wrong. All 3 Cloverfield movies are related. They happen in different time frames but are all connected . Because of an experiment that went wrong.
@@pattonsplace41477 That's revisionist history that was created to link the movies when the third one was released on Netflix. I'm pretty sure that when "Lane" was released, JJ Abrams gave interviews explaining that "Cloverfield" was simply meant to be a brand similar to The Twilight Zone.
@@pattonsplace41477 This is slight revisionist history. When the third movie was released directly to Netflix, they tried to retcon the franchise to clumsily link the stories together. However, when "Lane" was coming out in theaters, JJ Abrams made it clear that it was not in the same world as the first movie. Rather, the word "Cloverfield" was simply a branding thing, like "The Twilight Zone." The only link between the two movies was a shared tone.
This was an insane theatrical experience. Not i terms of loud and rowdy audience, but the exact opposite. Everyone was SOOO into it, that in the quiet parts you couldn't even hear anyone breathing!!

It makes me so happy to see this movie finally get the love it deserves. I saw it when it came out, then didn't watch it again until last year and it quickly shot up into my top 10 favorite movies. Now, I'm seeing more and more reactions to it pop up and I, just, so hype!
This is one of the best "found footage" films, in my opinion. As unbelievable as the story is, the actors and the purpose of having the camera makes it more believable than a lot of the others. This was also a lot of fun to see in the theaters when it came out.
Some really good dramas to watch: Cold Mountain (sub-plot of a love story set in the South - North Carolina - during the Civil War, told from the South's perspective; it's a brutal but beautiful story). The Prestige - It's a movie about two rival magicians in the 1890s (David Bowie has a small role in it). Gattaca - It's the story of a world where Eugenics (yoo-JEN-iks) is practiced, essentially looking to improve the genetic quality of the human population but if your genetics are bad, well... And lastly, Inception.
When I i first watched this, I wasn't expecting much, as I was fed up with the 'found footage' trend. But Damn! What a great film! So well done in every way. In my top ten monster movies.
This is probably the best of the “found video” genre of movie making. It’s a classic in not showing the monster and leaving the reactions and fear to the imagination of the audience, who are probably more imaginative than the actual producers. 😱✌️
It's the opposite actually..I always hated when movies would "leave it to the audience." I always thought that was a cheap cop out. I go to see the CREATOR'S imagination. Not my own. With that said, what I appreciated a lot about Cloverfield is you get several really good looks at the monster. I left the theater feeling really satisfied and money well spent they didn't cop out and being confident in their design and giving us several good looks at it. That's the way it should be done, that's why this movie was successful.
I will never be able to explain how awesome it is to allow you two into my/your home and share a movie. You are both wonderful examples of what a good person looks like. And, speaking of looks, y'all look amazing. Fresh ink, fresh hair. She knows how to paint. I hope you both understand the importance that you bring to the table. And IT COMPLETELY SHOWS HOW MUCH THE TWO OF YOU ARE IN LOVE. Sometimes, I enjoy watching you react to each other more than the film Thank you so much for your hard work. Your children are blessed, and the world's a better place because you two are in it.
If you guys want to check out a sci-fi film that will mess with your thoughts on reality. You should check out Incoherence. The fact that there wasn’t a “script” and all the scenes were improvised makes it feel very authentic.
One element of this movie you didn't fully experience was the soundscape. This is one of the great movies for LFE effects. So In the theater the entire room shook and floor shook with monsters steps and explosions. You felt it like being near the kettle drums at an orchestra. If you have a really good home theater with Surround and a LFE worthy subwoofer (12 inch of so, 400w plus etc) this is like a showcase movie to show off the LFE. This and Prometheus may be my favorite two demonstration home theater movies. With the right sound set up the ride is even better. Given that you guys literally are reviewing movies for your channel I would love to see you guys have that sort of setup to get the full experience.
I know I'm very much alone in requesting this so you folks will probably NEVER get to it, but imo Invasion Of The Body Snatchers 1978 with Donald Sutherland and Jeff Goldblum is The creepiest, most psychologically unsettling, and most unforgettable sci-fi movie I have seen yet. Hope you give it a shot someday. It is considered a classic and was an updated version of an already classic movie that was made in the 50s. Both were great but This one -just Wow!
For years, I only knew Lizzy Caplan as, "The girl that blew up," because of this movie. 😂 If you think it came from the ocean, go back and watch it again. But, look closely whenever the previously recorded material breaks into the current recording stream.
Love this movie. An incredibly effective creature feature that really got you invested in all the characters. Non stop chaos and terror, with brutally realistic situations. "Formerly known as Central Park"...
The movies, like this, are called found footage for a reason. Normally no one survives. There a war movie from late eighties called 84 Charlie Mopic about a camera man in Vietnam. It's about a solider who processes film and wonders why he never sees the guys who filmed it. He goes out into the jungle to find out what really happens. This movie was written by a guy who used to work at a theater I later worked at. They premiered it at that theater and I was one of the first people to ever see it. He would go on to write Courage Under Fire and Mr. Holland's Opus. Another film you may want to check out is Hardcore Henry. It's an action movie shot from the first person perspective.

In the back ground of the few last shots you see something splash into the ocean. It is said that is the creature's egg falling from space. I seem this in the theater and loved it! The space-flea noises made me crack up.
19:00 was such an incredible scene in the theater with the surround sound. I saw it 3x in theaters and countless times at home. Love a good monster movie! The other movies in the cloververse are good but they're very loosely associated with this. Maybe someday JJ Abrams will give us more proper clover action.
Omg yay!! This is one of my favorite movies! SO glad you got to experience it! I remember the social media roll out with the fake MySpace profiles for everyone.
They constructed the Statue of Liberty head to be roughly 50% larger than its actual size because people imagined it being bigger and complained that it looked too small.
Yeah, i saw this in the cinema. Two movies i remember when it was very eerie going out of the cinema at the end was this one and The Happening. Takes time to adjust to reality.
Fun fact! The guy who plays Hud is the bartender in Deadpool. Also, this movie was inspired by Godzilla. Abrams got the idea after visiting japan and seeing Godzilla stuff in stores. He wanted to make a movie so America could have its own iconic giant monster movie like Japan has Godzilla. Please react to 10 Cloverfield Lane!

Actually, that’s the crash of the satellite owned by the Japanese company that went looking for it and disturbed the beast.
That was a crashed satellite. The monster was woken up from drilling on the ocean floor. The monster is also just a frightened child.
@@machfrontThey didn't go looking for it. They accidentally woke it up drilling on the ocean floor.
I think none of the TH-cam reactors noticed that ocean scene
@@xKR33Px How do you know this? You just see something fall into the water.
You keep moving away from the most mysterious movie you'll EVER see: close encounters of the third kind
You keep going on about how aliens fascinate you Amber and that movie will make you BELIEVE that they're out there, like how ET did
You need to refill your list with adventure movies
The Narnia series and even Pirates of the Caribbean are great entries in that genre
You still need to see Gladiator and the Sound of Music
CE3K for sure. Contact, with Jodie Foster and Matthew McCaughnahey would also be an excellent choice. Spartacus over Gladiator though.
A long while back,
I believe Amber said she and her dad used to watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind when she was growing up. It was one of her dad's favorite movies.
I think Jordan hasn't seen it yet.
I hope they react to it. Amber can revisit the movie, while Jay can experience it for the first time.
I suspect he'll love it.
Whatever the case,
I HOPE they react to it.🤞👽🛸🙏
All these movies seem the same. I would love to see them react to something different, like Christopher Nolan's Memento. We're probably not going to get any Merchant and Ivory films, huh?
@@merlisalawrencecorbett1331 another good Nolan movie is The Prestige
They can even do Dunkirk for Veteran's Day in a few months
Merchant and Ivory movies probably aren't their speed
Its their channel though tbf and not everyone likes the same things - give them time!
Godzilla was Japanese cope for being nuked, Cloverfield is NYC cope for 911
Probably my favorite found footage film. To think the monster was a baby 😮
I loved that take- that the monster was just a baby calling and looking for mom.
Ribbed -- for her displeasure.
@CuidightheachODuinn way bigger than robs atlease she felt it.
I really like this movie too. I saw it when it first came out in theaters. It really felt like you were right there with them.
I saw this when it came to the theater and it was fantastic on the big screen. This movie blew my mind
Amazing movie, glad you guys got to see this, i heard this was crazy in theaters.
This movie hits harder on the big screen, the skyscraper scene will set your vertigo to max!
The fact that it was just a baby is crazy. I do believe they are making yet another one of these at some point. Love the finale where you see it land in the water. 😊
Love this movie!
What? But JJ and all the pre-marketing was about it being an undersea creature that was awoken through deep sea drilling
Wouldn't there have been a big wake/splash when it hit the water?
Nope that was a Japanese satellite
Yessssss!
So glad you picked a sci-fi movie!
Especially this one!!
If you read this, go back and watch the ending credits. There's a very brief shot when they're at Coney Island,
you can see a super quick image of the alien crashing
into the water when they're riding the train car.
It's super fast, blink, and you might miss it.
"Spider, grasshopper, Chihuahuas"... LOL I'm dead!
Alien genital crabs.
All great films....but curious about what brought these to mind after Cloverfield? No criticism just find it funny.
Love the secret of my success.
I didn't have time to watch this reaction - but honestly - was just trying to their attention. I've been recommending these for the past two years with no luck. At the time with only 6 comments - I thought Amber or Jay might see this - and put them on their list.
I much you have to pay for one movie on their patreon ?
@@jamalbryant8099 I'm not a part of their patreon channel - so I'm not sure. I just put my recommendations on here and hope they someday get noticed.
I literally remember feeling like we were actually watching live footage of what was happening in New York, it was actually terrifying lol 😅
One of my favorite movies of all time! ❤️
Yay Finally Thanks you Congratulations 🎉🎉
"Clover field Lane" Next!! 😊
It is related to this, same world and same event. Just a different story with a different cast and theme.
14:44 The guy playing the police officer is Jason Cerbone who played Jackie Aprile Jr. in The Soprano’s, he actually went to high school with my cousin
Love this movie! The suspense was intense!!!!
Inception and Memento are my favorite Nolan movies.
Sometimes, I enjoy watching you react to each other more than the film
Thank you so much for your hard work.
Your heart is in the center of your chest Jay.
This was a great time at the theater! I stayed until the end because of the closing song.
"Contact" is a good sci-fi movie.
Yes! I get they would both love it.
They would love it
It's one of my favorite movies!
"Deep Impact" too.
Why you lying? Contact was terrible. The ending was so disappointing.
Awesome reaction. So next you have to check out 10 Cloverfield Lane and then The Cloverfield Paradox
For years, I only knew Lizzy Caplan as, "The girl that blew up," because of this movie. 😂
If you think it came from the ocean, go back and watch it again. But, look closely whenever the previously recorded material breaks into the current recording stream.
Marlena is my spirit animal- “Maybe it was a going away present.” 😂
Love this movie!!! Really good!! I have seen this movie many times!!!
I LOVE CLOVERFIELD SO MUCH!!! YOU GUYS ABSOLUTELY ROCK!!! I LOVE YOUR ENERGY!!!! I FIND YOUR CHEMISTRY TRULY INSPIRING AND DOPE AF!!!!! PLEASE KEEP GOING AND GROWING!!! YOU HAVE MY BLESSINGS!!! YES, IT'S LATE AND YES, I HAVE BEEN DRINKING!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS...... BIG FAN!!!!!!
❤❤❤❤
In the back ground of the few last shots you see something splash into the ocean. It is said that is the creature's egg falling from space. I seem this in the theater and loved it! The space-flea noises made me crack up.
"I'm so STARTLED" (South Park fans know)
19:00 was such an incredible scene in the theater with the surround sound. I saw it 3x in theaters and countless times at home. Love a good monster movie! The other movies in the cloververse are good but they're very loosely associated with this. Maybe someday JJ Abrams will give us more proper clover action.
So glad y'all enjoyed it. I have watched this several times, and love it every time.
First time I'm early! Can't wait to watch! Y'alls channel has been one of my favorite channels the past couple of months!
Very underrated movie....one of my favorite theater experiences of all time.....glad you enjoy it.
If you think about it, Rob going after Beth is 1 - he loves her and 2 - hes listening to his brothers last words before everything started.
Jay is loving the fact that he found a movie that he isn't scared of but Amber is.
Omg yay!! This is one of my favorite movies! SO glad you got to experience it! I remember the social media roll out with the fake MySpace profiles for everyone.
you'll find the explanation of what happened here in "The Cloverfield Paradox" 👾
Collateral with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx, No Country for Old Men and Teaining Day with Denzel are great
I'm glad you guys watch this movie your reaction was priceless can't wait to see you guys react to the next one
I went through the NYC blackouts in 1977 and 2003, trust me, you do not want to be in the NYC subway when the power goes off.
I was so excited to watch this with you guys. I finally got some time to watch. Love this movie. “Let’s get it”
This is the first time I noticed the actor from SoA and Luke Cage is one of the party guests!
Same! I was like “Theo Rossi?!”
I think the cloverfield paradox is the second movie
Hands down one of my top 10 of all time such a great classic movie 🎥
This is why I'll always give any found footage film a chance as long as the production is good. Nothing beats tge POV of the character.
I saw this in theaters (yes I'm old) and it felt like you were there the entire time. Awesome movie, they don't make them of this quality any more.
How could they not seen any clips of this film
They are everywhere
This movie feels like an 00s time capsule
This will be one of the best of the alien movies out there for sure y’all but no one knows talking about now days because everyone is into all the modern alien movies and what not 🎥 🍿 sad to say most of us old folks see everything from back then but the modern generation doesn’t
One of my favorite movies ever!
I would definitely second “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” Also, I still think you would really like “Dark City.”
I know a lot of people don't like this movie but I love it. It is one of my go to movies when I need something to watch.
I remember seeing this movie with a friend at the theater. After the movie was over, I left having motion sickness. Lol
'Really unique. I love this movie. 'Glad you reacted to it.
Amber you will love the changeling with George C Scott it is pretty creepy
hell yeah i was WAITING for this!!
"Alien" and "Aliens", should be next on the sci-fi horror list. "Event Horizon" and "Life" (after you've seen the Alien movies). All great sci-fi horror goodies that Jordan can probably manage! Also "Silent Running" is a 70's classic to check out. Not really horror, but very good.
Yes, I'm shocked they saw Predator and not Alien nor Aliens yet... Life is indeed a great choice in modern movies (after Alien). For Event Horizon, they'll sure go "what in the world?" ;)
I had decided to go to be early and boom. Finally got a timely notification. Ha. This movie is nuts.
You guys gotta do a deep dive into this rabbit hole trust me it’s worth it cloverfield explained your minds will be blown but wait until watching all three so you can have more context about how everything fits together
