Grady when you say no one cares you are right. But not that no one cares about you or your life. No one cares about a little inconsistency or that the channel isn't the same that it's been the last few years. We've grown to be fans of you not just albums reviews or end of year lists. Keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep watching. (Even if we disagree about Turnpike's newest album).
I’m so stoked for the hunger games soundtrack. Hopefully these artists can get the recognition they deserve. And Grady it doesn’t matter what content you put out it’s always insightful and interesting. You’ve introduced me to so many new artists. So thanks.
Wyatt Flores to the moon!!!!! Wyatt is so good live saw him open for 49 Winchester in a venue that holds 1000 people. I’ll never be able to do that again
That must have been great seeing him open for 49 Winchester. I saw 49 Winchester in February or March last year (2023) at a venue that holds 400 people. It was incredible. I haven’t seen Wyatt yet, but I really want, too.
In a world where Zach is taking over country music. It’s nice knowing we have artists like Wyatt Flores, Sam Barber, and Dylan Gossett making their own mark on the genre now
I couldn't agree more with some of what's already been said in the comments. I care so much about you and what you do. When you take (well deserved or busy) time away, I miss you and your videos! I am Swedish, I live in Stockholm, and basically no one listens to country here! I've loved country since I was a child when my best friends American dad played his country vinyl records on the summer nights he let us stay up too late = great memories! You are my go-to whenever I feel alone in my country interest over here. 😊 I sort of... need you. 😅 I do. (Also, haircut looks amazing! 👌 )
Oh my! The hunger games soundtrack was a great surprise! Charles Wesley Godwin always gave me the vibe of these books… “Sorry for the wait” is SO district twelve-y. Nice one!
Immediately went to listen the new Wyatt Flores after this and was not disappointed! Something about it is giving me 2008i-sh to early 2010s Texas music scene vibes. I don't know how to explain it, but it felt like I was listening to something that came out from my early college years and I love it.
I’m so hype about this soundtrack, it’s introducing so many people to country/folk music who may have been turned off it before. Especially validating since most of my current favorite artists released new music for it
Glad to see you back!! I actually have “Life Lessons” and “Low Hanging Fruit” on my Spotify country playlist! Great songs! And I’ve been among your playlist’s followers for months! 😁 Have to check out more stuff though!
Great video Grady, I really liked Wyatt but after seeing him live at Whiskey Jam a few weeks ago he’s just got it. Absolutely love him and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
I'm a big fan of yours Grady. It's hard to keep track of so many great artists and I really appreciate that I can outsource a lot of that to you. If you weren't out here "just reacting", I'd miss out on so much great music. Hope you don't see it as a sisyphean task, because your videos are a highlight in my life.
The Wilder Blue are out of this world good. I hope the Combs fans get to the stadium shows early and listen. Today I saw the new album and wondered how did I miss this on Friday and over the weekend….? Then realized a Tuesday release. The new Flatland Calvary album is pretty good too.
I wasn’t sure how the Wilder Blue’s cover of The Eagle’s Seven Bridges Road would be, but it is excellent. Now I’ll have to listen to the rest of their new album
Did you not hear all of the artists who were featured on the soundtrack? If nothing else it’s cool for some of these artists to have a good payday off of a big movie.
Wildcat is about him being the mascot for Morrison OK. The imagery of the song isn’t describing himself it’s describing how he looked in the costume. Definitely one of the best we have had.
Definitely not telling you how to do your job here, just had some suggestions regarding the consistency. Maybe alternate uploads? So every two weeks you can have one video that’s more creative “Does Riley Green have anything to say?” Type videos and then the next two weeks dedicate to making a standard “Album Roundup.” Video. Also maybe place a limit on how many albums you’ll allow into one roundup, so that way you can have extras if it starts slowing down. Give yourself tight deadlines, that always helps me when I need to get an assignment turned around. Lastly, I suggest some tutorials from masterclass or just browse on TH-cam to see if there’s something for managing your projects. Great video man, still love seeing your content after all these years.
Grady…watch you all the time…while I love the alt stuff even more na Ethel mainstream less than you do….this video reminded me you are always with the watch with multiple great takes on what is happening in the scene right now, and why things either stand out or melt into the backdrop. Thank you!
I am so glad you spoke specifically about Rachel Zegler! All of her songs on the album make me so happy! I think she is incredible, and if you compare it so her singing in West Side Story is just incredible when you see her versatility. On the Bro Country side, its interesting to see what is happening in the Australian country music scene which is this weird mix of 2010's Bro Country mixed with a bit fo Muscadine Bloodline style writing!
Hi Grady! I just came acrossed your channel today and I saw this name. Wyatt Flores and I knew right away that last name belonged to a Mexicano Americano. I looked him up and saw that he is a mexican american! Yes! I have been waiting for a Mexican American to break out in country music! Just like Freddy Fender back in the 70s and 80's! Thanks for mentioning him, i listened to his music, love it! What do you think about the group Midland? Check them out, they are great!
Discovered Stephen Wilson Jr’s album and haven’t stopped listening to that. Also would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Post Maloney cover of Pickup Man
I was fully expecting to dislike boys back home but I can’t help but love it. I guess I have stayed away from that kind of music long enough I can enjoy a good catchy song like that when it comes along now instead of being bored.
Have you listented to Alexandra Kay's new album? I would love to hear your thoughts on it! I think it's amazing! Everleave and All I've Ever Known have been on repeat here
Definitely would be interested in the over-Zach Bryan-ification trend video. I may be in the minority here, but I cannot stand his sound or any other indie/alternative country or music in general. If everyone sounded like CoJo or Jake Worthington, on the other hand, I’d be pumped, and I’m not even from Texas.
i dont keep up with all the new artist, becoming to over crowded, ones like tyler booth, and few other, but besides that, im pretty much a 80s and 90s country
@@johnpierce2095 That's fine, no shame in that! But there's also a middle ground. You don't have to keep up with everyone but could give a few newer artists a try here or there. But it's all up to you. Music is deeply personal and meant for enjoyment, so you listen to whatever makes you feel good.
I enjoy Grady’s content most of the time but this felt a bit off to me. Good artists, good info but tainted. I don’t dig some of the cynical takes. Stay the lover of music we all enjoy hearing talk. Hope this doesn’t come off like I’m taking the piss at Grady. I’ve been a fan for a while and I’ll stay one as long as things don’t turn all nasty and nothing is good enough anymore. Not saying that’s happening, I’m assuming it’s just the year end pressure with all the other things going on. Best wishes, Grady. Thanks for all the hard work that goes into making us these free internet videos. It’s appreciated.
Wyatt is the first new sound I’ve liked in years. Thank you so very very much.

Wyatt Flores to the moon!!!!!
Wyatt is so good live saw him open for 49 Winchester in a venue that holds 1000 people. I’ll never be able to do that again
I saw him on the same tour in a 700 person venue!
I just looked and no upcoming tour dates in the Northeast....ugghhh.
Nice. I saw him open for 49 at Fine Line in Minneapolis. Guess he’s been a huge draw during afternoon sets at festivals all summer.
That must have been great seeing him open for 49 Winchester. I saw 49 Winchester in February or March last year (2023) at a venue that holds 400 people. It was incredible.
I haven’t seen Wyatt yet, but I really want, too.
If CWG isn’t my top artist on Spotify this year I’m not who I think I am.
Linkin Park is my top artist on Spotify, then Tyler Childers, then CWG.
It's been a weird year.
Nice!

A purposeful mixture of content is totally fine. I like both your video essays and your album reviews. As long as the content is intentional.
No but Olivia Rodrigo, Molly Tuttle and Flatland understood the assignment. Like honestly perfectly tell the story of Lucy and Snow
Hey man I appreciate you. I come here to find new artists all the time. Your doing the work I don't have time to do
the hunger games soundtrack is flat out awesome, molly tuttle, billy strings, cwg, absolute gem of an album
I’m so hype about this soundtrack, it’s introducing so many people to country/folk music who may have been turned off it before. Especially validating since most of my current favorite artists released new music for it
I’m pretty sure Wildcat by Wyatt Flores is about him being the mascot for the football team as the “wildcat”, that song is so well written I love it
I feel dumb for not getting this.
@@GradySmithI didn’t quite get that he was the mascot either and I’ve listened to the song a good 4 times
@@GradySmith I didn't get it until he said it when I was at his show last night, so don't feel bad

Fun fact: The Molly Tuttle Song is a cover of a Carter Family song
Easily my favorite video of yours by far. Keep crushing it Grady
Sick cut bro
10:35 you described exactly how I feel about musicians like Luke Grimes. You hit the nail on the head😂
Hey @gradysmith. Have you heard any Stephen Wilson Jr. Id like to hear your take on his music.
The Ballad of Lucy Gray's melody I instantly recognized as that of The Streets of Laredo, which was pretty cool
The way that it's utilized in the book is especially cool as well
Great video Grady, I really liked Wyatt but after seeing him live at Whiskey Jam a few weeks ago he’s just got it. Absolutely love him and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Come a long way Grady keep it up brotha
The “guitar bum bum bum” on Life Lessons song made me smile involuntarily.

I love your show! It introduces me to a lot of new music.

Billy knocked it out of the park on that soundtrack. The more I listen to it Bella’s song is just perfect in her way.
Another great video Grady!! 👍👍👍
Glad you are talking about Wyatt Flores and did you hear about Koe wetzal making a Christmas album
Yes I did!

boys back home is so good dude
Grady is just doing what he does
Discovered Stephen Wilson Jr’s album and haven’t stopped listening to that.

That’s an intense album for sure
American Gothic has been a fav for a few months now
I had no idea the Hunger Games soundtrack was even country
The Wilder Blue is also opening for Luke
Grady saying "Do the thing I do" makes it for me
Wyatt Flores is a badass....that is all and Happy Thanksgiving

Love this format! I'd rsther have you give straight impressions like this to catch up than to agonise sbout it
Love the vid. Josiah and the Bonnevilles new album has been on repeat for me. Would love to see a vid on that
It's mentioned in one of the next few that's posting.
CWG absolutely killed his cover of Winters Come and Gone! It’s been on repeat since the album dropped.
the music for "The Ballad of Lucy Grey" is actually taken from an old song called "streets of Laredo". they just changed the words
Hey Grady
Yo
I care Grady, keep doing what you do...don't always agree but always respect your opinion.
You smart!
Can you address the impact of Dwight Yoakum on this wonderful section of music. Please!
Love Molly Tuttle❤️ Wyatt Flores is phenomenal🤩
Not sure if you’ve spoken on treaty oak revival or not but they may need an entire video to themselves after this new album!
Are you gonna cover Stephen Wilson Jr ? Love his album, and love the channel 🤠
PLEASE REVIEW Caleb Lathrop’s Sweet Marie… legitimately one of the best written country songs I’ve ever heard
U love you some Charles W.Godwin lol. Great content bro
hahah guilty as charged
Lookin’ fresh, man!
I want to say that “orange bottles” is actually referencing the orange bottle prescription pills come in not a whiskey bottle.
please update us when you listen to "bless my bones" by the wilder blue lol
Any thoughts on 1989 TV?? 😊😊
Grady you’re the man
Please make a clip from what you said about the derivative copiers of Zack Bryan! I laughed so hard!
Already on my TikTok and Insta!
But what about Jake Kohn???? (Also, wonder if you ever got around to Stephen Wilson Jr.)
Idk if you know this, I can't tell, but Wildcat is about him being the mascot (a wildcat)
Get those videos published in December, when advertisers pay the most!
fun fact wildcat was about Wyatt being the mascot
Have you listented to Alexandra Kay's new album? I would love to hear your thoughts on it! I think it's amazing! Everleave and All I've Ever Known have been on repeat here
Grady, have you gone back to listen to Zane Williams’ discography? He is a great songwriter! I highly recommend you do, if you haven’t yet.
Gotta talk about red clay strays
“You don’t care”
Me: “i care”
Luke combs really in his ‘let’s use my fame to get new guys over’ ark
Eli Winders
that’s the tweet
Small critique as someone who grew up in Weyerhaeuser country. It’s pronounced “warehouser” not wirehouser
Agreed, from a guy who grew up in Weyerhauser country in British Columbia lol
Check out Stephen Wilson Jr's new album. It's fantastic.
Do a video on Colin Stough
Luke was making music way before he started acting
Dylan Gossett: 👁️👄👁️
Haha there are more vids coming he’s in one of those
