It only just occured to me that I played and worked with Vata and most of the other greats except Franco. Doesn't mean I was good myself but they certainly were. The tragedy was that there were no multi-track tape machines then. Also due to high import duties tapes were super-costly so we used to wipe them and re-record over often priceless, legendary, musical performances. At least we still have these vinyls!
You remembered my child hard in Bomba in 70s that was great days in my live may those what are still alive God bless them and extended there live and those who have gone to the world of dead ,may their souls rest in peace
Thank you Shaddy for the history. That answers why, while all the songs are great, they sound different - vocalists especially. I have also always wondered who the 'high voice' vocalist was. He's great.
On pourra dire se qu on veut de MOBUTU mais pendant cette y avait une fiertezairoise qui n'y a plus a quel prix mais c est pas mieux aujourd'hui si ce n est pire vive le CONGO libre et souverain
Lipua Lipua was my fouvority band in the seventies to be specific 1974. It also reminds me of my brother in-law Mr JB Chitandika in Chipata Kapata surbab behind Jere grossaries near Beit Stadium
❤😂🎉😅 Lipua Lipua was among the best bands in DRC Congo as well as in East Central Africa. I really enjoyed Lipua Lipua music 🎶🙌🎉in 80s. I salute Prof Bata Mombasa
This was a regular on the playlist of ABS Radio 1 programme ABS by 1 in Enugu, South East, Nigeria in the 80s. Great memories. Mobile advertisers and sellers of herbal medicines used some of the tracks .
Oh My God! It reminds me of my middle school and secondary school days. I wish I could rewind the time. Very nostalgic. Rest In Peace all the departed Souls.
To the Kenyan generation that enjoyed it....." Onyango kamata dem ..."should be a most familiar expression!!!!!.....we enjoyed these to the rafters!!!!!

Lipua Lipua was one of my favorite bands in the 1970's. Nostalgic youthful seventies as a young teacher at Namasagali College, Uganda!

Nice
05:05 plus next 90 odd secs. The little double at start of phrase requires a mystical knowledge of timing which as guitarist I can well attest to.
Tonele Mazisa* was a singer
Non,ToNele c est un chanteur1er voix qui a remplacer MBUDI MALANDA,le compositeur de la Chanson Nouvelle generation et lemba lemba.
Nyboma was and is the glue to Lipua Lipua, Kamale etc... the golden voice still lives, a blessing for all of us.
