Judith is a baby. Completely unaware of the reality of what's going on and even if she was aware she would have never experienced the world before the walkers. Beth believed in them. She had hope they would all make it, they could save the world. That the world is worth saving and making the effort to live and not just survive. That's a hope the other's lack. She was hope. In just a few days of being alone with her Daryl's attitude changed, he was letting himself believe just a little bit in her hope. Judith doesn't do that. That's why Beth's death was so saddening. Like I said, she was hope. With her death, hope is dead.
I hate how people think Beth was a useless character. Who was the one who took care of Judith 99% of the time, even during hard times (Rick when Lori died, when an illness took place during the prison). Who was the one who sang just to give a little bit of hope to people? Etc? And even with this, she still could've developed more as a character. It's sad.

I remember making a facebook post about it, always wish “Beth” would have been apart of the show for longer! Curious to know if she would’ve turned out like carol did in the later seasons.

There's a sweetness, sincerity, and innocence she projects. I mean, I frickin' balled when she died. I'm a grown ass man sobbing at a fictional character. Daryl carrying her out, Maggie collapsing, the music (Coda), just absolutely heart wrenching perfection. Bravo to you, Emily. We all cried with you.

Beth didn't deserve to die, not the way she did in season 5. I get it, it was all about proving that Beth could do more than just being a burden as Dawn and the TWD viewers saw her. It feels more like her death was a bad attempt at a tearjerk rather than a contribution to Maggie's growth as the "Widow". Wasted potential that's how i saw it.

Then all of a sudden I found myself in The Walking Dead with a big role as an actor. That changed my life. For 4 years I have met & been working with excellent actors & actresses, production staff, writers, director, etc..We built friendship and camaraderie on the set and off the camera. Now after 4 yrs its time for my character to die. How would I feel about that? Same thing with Emily, Sasha and others I have worked with and enjoyed their company. Sorrow and sadness with lots of tears to say goodbye.
I was so pissed off when she died because one of my favorite character and of course my brother from another mother Glen aka Steven lol! Beth good luck on your future and I hope to see more of you.

Those who took care of Judith: Beth > Tyreese > Daryl. These three are the major protectors. Sure we have Aaron, Eugene, Rosita and so many but these three were vital along with Maggie that helped delivered her.
This was beginning of the slow transition to the show bottoming out by the time Negan appeared. They atleast tried to develop characters like Beth in the early seasons and now the show is just a Walking Bore and it just plods along with no character arcs.
Beth was the needed innocence in an otherwise very dark story line. She was critical.

IMO, Emily Kinney looks better without makeup. And just like Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan, it's weird hearing her speak without a southern accent.
