A History of Portland Japanese Garden by NAJGA

Our very own Sadafumi Uchiyama, Chief Curator and Director of the International Japanese Garden Training Center was a guest speaker at the webinar entitled, "Innovation by Adaptation II", hosted by the North American Japanese Garden Association (NAJGA). Sada shares the nearly 60-year history and evolution of Portland Japanese Garden and how the Garden has been continually overseen by a succession of Japan-trained garden craftsmen through the years.

thank you for this very interesting conversation. it was very informative and helped to understand how the garden has evolved over the decades. it's important for me because I'm actually trying to build a Japanese garden like yours here, at my home town in Ukraine. well, not to build, but rather organize its creation as I'm not a gardener:) but I'm in love in Japanese gardening culture! and hope i will be able at least start it's creation process:)
