Saw these guys twice in the Netherlands and both times were amazing. I have seen countless bands in my life, but Adam is the best drummer I have ever seen or heard.
Saw them live first time in Het Bos, Antwerp, Belgium. They didn't even have an album out back then, they were touring to get their first album trying to be made! Been a fan ever since, they really blow you away live! Really happy I went to that show :D
this is a much poppier record, which doesn't always mean less developed - in fact, the writing on this record is often quite a bit more structured, and the result is some kind of middle brow art pop that is almost zappa-esque in it's lifting of 80s pop melodies, refashioned in a kind of jazz fusion architecture. it actually does what it intends to do rather well, revealing a set of ruthless studio musicians for hire. but, you'll forgive me for preferring a sound that is rougher around the edges, and features some more virtuosic playing. i would hope they open the sound back up a little bit, if they choose to come back to this project at all, and they should - the first record is far too strong to orphan as a proof of concept.
Shit like this keeps me humble, shit like this keeps me alive
God I love LOVE how their vocals are just another instrument to compliment everything.
it's like.... Chon, Animals As Leaders, and 80s synth-pop baked a birthday cake :)
raas96 A year old comment, yes. But so very accurate!
More like asiwyfa and 80s synth pop
Absolutely phenomenal chaps. Really looking forward to this album - love how melodic this song is!

Matthew Lord i just saw them in Raleigh. No idea who they were but they blew my mind. I'm an avid follower now. The drummer is a beast.
