A big guy who executes footsweeps---what a rarity. Nobody ever expects finesse and technique from such a large powerful fighter, so he fools them every time. And his mastery of the belt grip is phenomenal. 🥋🐻🇷🇺
Randori with Mikhaylin was an experience. He hit me with that low uchimata....inches off the ground...or so it seemed. Incredibly fast and agile for a man his size.

I was so busy with my job for the past few months that I could hardly watch your channel Now I have time to watch it again my job has absolutely nothing to do with Judo By the way, Muneta was already a world class player when he was in high school he beat Tmenov at the Kano Cup when he was 17 But I was surprised when Muneta was defeated in the final of the World Junior Championships That opponent was Mikhaylin Muneta faced Mikhaylin about ten times, but Muneta only beat him twice On the other hand, Mikhaylin had a hard time making it to the Olympics 'Cuz Tmenov was standing in his way But he finally made it to the Olympics and won a silver medal at the age of 33 Muneta didn't make it to the Olympics after all
Welcome back, it interesting how different styles make a difference. Mikhaylin was Munetas kryptonyte, Muneta was bad matchup for Tmenov and Tmenov was a tough opponent for Mikhaylin. What a great era of heavyweights it was.
I don't know what it is, but I can watch the second Ippon of this video like 15 times in a row and I am as stunned every single time I watch it. Hard to explain what it is, but I find it a very special technique. It, for one thing, happened during the final of a WC (2005) against the world class Muneta, who I also admire a lot. Then again it doesn't really look like Judo to me, more like some sport like WWE or something. Judo translates to 'Gentle Way' and this technique looks kind of brutal, even though we know no one got hurt that final. Then the last part for me is the amount of contrast with the first clip, which is 0% power and 100% technique. Absolutely stunning Judoka in his weight class; the strength, adaptability (Kaeshi Waza), versatility and speed amonst others. No words

Sweeps are so satisfying
I see it the same way.

Yes Russians and Georgians are famous for gripping the belt...
No doubt this dude is highly skilled, but it's more than that, this dude is really strong.

Exactly my thoughts

Amazing! Makes fun to see this!
This guy would have performed marvels before leg grabs were sadly banned.
Once he gets your belt - it's over! 3:07 - epic!
Grande!💪
