Ohh... thank you so much for this beautiful story full of God's Word! I am so enjoying this! I am now 75, but many decades ago; I went to an urban high school with two Quaker girls. They were polite but would never let us get close enough to them to become friends.. Being raised in the Born Again Christian Faith and belief in the Holy Trinity, I wanted to get to know them better with the hopes of sharing our faith/religions with each other. But...unfortunately, although they were very nice, they stayed to themselves and did not socialize with us. I will have to research to see how similar or different the Amish are from the Quakers. Thanks again. This has been most delightful! God Bless You!❤️🙏🙌👏👏
I was curious too. I found this: All Amish identify as Christians and regard the Bible as the word of God. On the other hand, Quakers practice "the inner light," which emphasizes the importance of following one's conscience and intuition. Not all Quakers identify as Christians. Some see themselves as members of a universal religion. Quakerism is a way of life, rather than a set of beliefs. It has roots in Christianity and many Quakers find the life and teachings of Jesus inspirational, but they have no creed. Quakers today do not look any different from other people, although they try to avoid extravagance and excess. The Amish are most similar to the Mennonite's. Though the Mennonites are not as strict and can use cars & electricity. Another name for Amish is Amish Mennonite.
