  • Not often youbget one like, but it dose happen the odd time.
    A brand new Bosch GSH11E hammer that won't work straight out if the Box.
    This was sent in for a warranty repair by someone who had only bought it the previous week.
    They couldn't get it to hammer at all and I can see why now.
    The customer didn't have to wait for long, this was sent, fix and sent back out again the very same day.
    Warranty repairs will always be high priority, so they are looked at first before anything else.
    Luckily this was only a very simple fix with a missing o ring, and it is a component that comes with every service kit anyway. So was in stock.

    I brought a Kango 950KV in almost new condition, complete with box, manuals etc, for very cheap because it was described as 'needs attention, weak hammer'. I discovered that the junk ring was installed back to front, preventing the anvil from striking the chisel. I suspect it came like that from the factory, so the machine sat around for years unused because it never hammered properly. Reassembled the right way up and it works perfect. Thanks to a minor factory assembly error, I got one of the best hammers ever made, in as-new condition, for just a few quid.

    The trick is remembering the fixes to which problem, i formerly did phone repairs for years, and I'd often forget my own learnt diagnosis. There were just so many. I'd remember i knew the reason. i just couldn't remember what it was, lol.

      i have 1 of their magdrills, it was oily in the case when we opened it up the store, thought to be for rust prevention. half a year later the heat from the roof got to a point where it had leaked a few ml of oil out of the gearbox visible. returned it to the store for warranty, and bosch service label stated oil seals were replaced, hopefully with the missing oil, since that its dry from the outside. the tool is rarely used btw

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Quality has dropped, plus they charge 30 euro delivery for any order. If I need a single oring it will cost over 30 euro.
      Some of the tools like hammer have a built in service light that shuts the machine down after so many hours. Only hilti can reset it. So it pointless me fixing them if the light could come on a few hours later, and them have to be sent ti hilti anyway.
      But the main problem is quality, they are built like they use to be. And are no longer worth the massive price tag, they are still good, but not three times the price good.
      There will be a massive influx of hilti tools shortly, due to the lower quality and their new fleet mantainence program.
      So I'm getting away from them before I'm swamped.

    Personally do not agree with Warranty Repairs on brand new tools, they should be exchanged for a brand new tool & the faulty new tool returned to the manufacturer.
    Not disparaging your repairs at all BTW.

    • @deandohertygreaser
      @deandohertygreaser  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would not trust any brand that hands out a new machine instead of repairing the faulty unit.
      The warranty repair is a feedback loop for the manufacture, so they can see common failures or protentional faulty components.
      They can see how many of each part has been replaced under warranty, so if the same part keeps failing, they can improve the design or improve the part.
      I can see this with Makita tools all the time, they take out a new part number for a single part and then give me a spec sheet explaining the the change, what has been changed and why.
      Bosch do not change the part number but do also continually make improvements with there machines. As I have a lot of old stock bosch parts and i see the differences in the parts themselves.
      When a brand simply hands you a new one each time, they have in fact increased the cost of the unit to you when you bought it, to allow for the lose. So you pay more for a lower quality machine, that they only want to sell and dont care about the tool lasting.
      You normally see this with cheap budget tools. But some of the bigger brand are now doing the same thing. Ill give you two guesses as to which brand that is.
      They only offer a replacement as they don't want tools repaired.
      And when they do that, it means they do not care about the quality at all.
