The Problem with Pac-Man 99 is that Pac-Man (At least the original version) wasn't really a versus focused game. So they had to add things to Pac-Man 99 which does work, but... does it? On the other hand, in Tetris 99 and F-Zero 99, in the originals you were always going against other players (Unless if you played a different mode), so the games themselves only had to be altered a little to fit with the 99 formula
He likely didn't mention it because even though Sonic 1 still has quite a few ports on the Switch, one that's missing is a Genesis Switch Online release. For some reason, Sonic 2 is on Switch Online, but not Sonic 1, so Sonic 2 has a slight edge in terms of the amount of rereleases it has on the Switch.
NES/Famicom Pac-Man also has a couple of significant bugs that affect play. When monsters switch from Chase to Scatter mode, they don't reverse direction, which means you can't easily tell when they switch. And, crucially, when the game reaches maximum difficulty (at the 8th Key board instead of 9th like the arcade), there's a bug that makes the initial Scatter period much longer than usual. It's really noticeable when you get to it, the ghosts circle the corners of the board for quite a while before they start chasing you!
