After reading this book I was in a state of bliss for 2 weeks. I have truly been awakened to what spiritual growth is.. For my birthday my family and friends visited the temple of the universe and had the pleasure of meeting Michael and his community. Everyone was so welcoming.. Thank you Michael

This is by far the best and clearest description of the Buddha Dharma I have yet to hear and read without mentioning Buddha or Dharma. Michael describes his suffering (dukah) and its main culprit the "conditioned self" which manifests as the (illusory) voice/person in the head. Craving something pleasurable not present, trying to hold onto something pleasurable which is now disappearing or resisting something un-pleasurable which is now appearing IS the fundamental drama called by some "the human condition". In this condition, we live reactive rather than responsive lives and here lies the seeds of war, racism, enslavement, colonization, economic disparity, misogyny, etc.
Rain clouds appear in the sky and it rains. Meanwhile the ever-present sky contains these passing clouds. The rain falls and the sky NEVER gets wet. Thoughts are like clouds which appear and disappear in our "mind-scape", our SELF is the ever-present sky. The human condition is fundamentally about conflating the SELF with the clouds (referred to as "delusion" in the Buddha Dharma) which is by its very nature a reactive scenario. We are never not the sky.
I truly cherish what Michael Singer has arrived at here and how it confirms the validity of the Buddha Dharma. "The Untethered Soul " is really and truly a spiritual gem and a valid path. I was first moved into the Dharma path after reading a book titled "Be An Island: The Buddhist Practice of Inner Peace" by the late Ayya Khema (her other writings are equally clear, direct and powerful).
I don't know if Oprah reads these comment, in any case I want to thank you for the priceless and transformative work you do!!!

Has anyone else noticed that the Enemy (forces of fear and darkness) always fights the hardest when God (Spirit, The Divine, etc.) has something wonderful and amazing in store for you? Soooooo happy to hear that he "powered through" his issue and came out the other side POWERFULLY & SUPERNATURALLY BLESSED ❤️.

4:46 The observer of the voice
5:38 The most important thing to know that -
    5:44 you’re the spiritual being
    6:01 Watcher of the thought
6:43 Hold on and let the thought go
7:19 Separate yourself to what you’re not
    7:47 “Who am I?”
8:08 I am the seer, the one who sees
9:00 Life is unfolding, mind is moving but be aware
    9:16 Not something you are
11:00 Real spiritual growth happens when -
11:13 There’s no part of you that you’re not willing to see
12:25 Relax and let it pass
12:32 Let it pass through you
12:46 Relax and lean away from the noise
13:25 Give it room to pass through
14:18 Every moment is a spiritual experience
15:00 Seat of stillness by letting go of the mind
15:20 Be still before you deal with the reality
15:40 State of absolute being - Freedom
16:14 Freedom is “freedom from yourself”
17:40 Situation that we “think” it’ll make us okay
18:05 Fear is a thing that we experience
18:13 Let go by passing it through
18:24 Let go now or fall - Let go and let it pass
19:15 Interface, interact, and participate with life
    19:46 Reactive
20:24 You’re not your body; death shows you.
20:34 Insignificant things that death will take eventually
21:02 Time is limited. Pay attention. Use it meaningfully
    22:24 Thorn that causes disturbance
23:42 Building a life to protect the thorn
24:03 Enjoying the life and that is spirituality
24:24 It’s not about what’s going on, it’s about your thorns
25:29 Do I like being disturbed? Disturbance is hurting you
29:47 Use the problems as an opportunity to let go
31:03 If your body started to hurt, you don’t say “shut up”
31:21 Relax behind it and it will work itself out
32:20 Relax. Connect to the source of the energy
33:37 Letting the thorn be removed
34:12 “I went inside and all of that didn’t matter” Step back
37:35 Once in a lifetime opportunity to let go of me
    38:02 God’s grace situation
38:17 Use the situation to let life reach into you
39:10 God has given one chance opportunity for liberation
    39:31 Take this burden
40:04 Go very deep inside and use it to go to God
40:46 You must die to be reborn
40:55 Let go of your personal self, identity, voices
41:25 Real growth is letting go

I’m thankful that Oprah produces the segments for us to learn from. I kind of wish she wouldn’t interrupt the speaker and talk so much because it’s the speaker who I really want to learn from. I have a lot to learn from Oprah, but I’ve been watching her for 25 years, and I wanna see somebody new tell me things!!

I agree! In this interview Oprah is struggling to not finish Michael’s sentences. She thinks she knows it all already. It’s like she’s the guru and telling us what we need to do. She doesn’t listen because she already knows all the answers and “SHE” is sharing Michael’s knowledge with the world. I had to fast forward past her telling everybody what they need to do. She’s got a huge ego which is so off putting.

I remember listening to this interview on the Super Soul Podcast, years ago, thinking I had some sort of clue on the topic. Years later, many events later, and having recently finished his book, only now I am starting to have a tiny bit of clue as to what this type of growth implies. And it feels quite life changing, it feels like a new beginning.
Thank you so so so much for this wonderful and insightful interview. It is doing a lot for me. I might have never found his book if it wasnt for this interview. As someone wrote in this comment section "I have been searching for this book my entire life, without knowing it," and that may convey a fraction of what I feel after reading The Untethered Soul.

A miracle just happened to me Oprah! I was packing my library books to move to another place. I came across Michael Singer’s book. I don’t remember when I bought the book. “Untethered Soul”. I looked at the book and I put the book on top of the pile of the books. I saw you on my iPad and saw you and Michael Singer. I definitely know that I needed to read the book today. I really think a miracle happened here because I was feeling a overwhelmed.

Fear is a part of life. Most of life is learning to 'stay calm' rather than panic...no matter how real or imagined the fear is.

    • @B_Bodziak
      @B_Bodziak ปีที่แล้ว

I try to appreciate fear for what it is because most of what we do is based in fear. Simple things like us doing laundry is rooted in the fear that of we don't wash our clothes today we fear we wont have clean clothes for the upcoming work week. Fear doesn't have to mean a negative.

I'm a lifelong balloon twister, often a street performer. I tell sometimes more than a hundred people each day, "imagine joyfully sitting in a 360° theater, and you're just being entertained, like you are actually IN your favorite movie. Choose to watch your life unfold with joyful curiosity." I call them "thought seeds". Quick and easy bits of "self"realization. I've got quite a few of them. Would love to have your platform to share a few with you. For instance, I can make anyone tell me that they are priceless and perfect in about a minute.

Michael Singer's ideas are so easy to consume. There's lots of other greats out there like Eckhart Tolle, but Michael just sounds like a regular person speaking in regular language. Somewhat related, the singer 'Pink' has a song called "Don't let me get me" which is almost a musical version of what people torture themselves with.

Leaning away is the best advice. I have a friend who is full of conflict from things that happened to him in his past. He just can't forget. It is the root of his anger and unhappiness. Quite a few times, especially when he I'd drunk, he will text me and what may start of a ordinary conversation..turns into insulting me. I am his only friend here in Bulgaria..his family like mine, live back in the UK. In response I switch off. I don't let his anger or insults, affect me. I know he is angry, and later, will apologise. I also know he is probably drunk. I don't hold his words against him. He only lives two doors away in a small village. He depends on my for so much, which I willingly give. I treat what is happening in and around the world, the media, governments etc, in the same manner. I observe without opinion, reaction or feelings. I just observe. I don't allow myself to be drawn in. Same with family dramas back in the UK. I don't get involved. I stay outside of it all.

What my soul’s been craving & leading me to -I hope I do it right! (lol)
Hawaii: I was there when I was 11
However it was bc after my parents died, my aunt who hated me prior to me being born, had custody of me -I prayed to be kidnapped. -Location means nothing, physicality & space is an illusion , as is time -further proving that death -the great equalizer that it is, is also not real how we perceive it.
Only love is real, and I believe that’s the root of what he’s saying, as when we really, really know that -nothing can be taken personally.
Thank you, & I love you

    Dear Oprah.
A friend sent me this video link, tonight, & I am so Happy & Grateful, she did!
I loved the give & take with you & Mr Singer.
I am an Eckhart Tolle student & I love how MIchael's Spiritual Experience tethers so well with Eckhart.
When I heard you say you ran out of people to give a copy of The Untethered Soul, I quickly jumped on here to Volunteer to be on your List, "Me! You can give it to me!" LOL..
    just like a little kid.
I see however that this is a video from 2021.
But if you are still wanting to give it out, I would love it. I am your neighbor in the lower Eastside of Santa Barbara.
If not, I will buy happily buy one myself.
I am at that crossroad of becoming aware of who I Am. The Awareness that I Am.
And, The ways that Mr Singer lays out to free oneself, from the egoic mind, is just what I want to apply in my life's Awakening, Now. Thank you for letting this video be played on TH-cam.
    Namaste, Alamar 🙋‍♀️💜
