Personally, I like to think that was a platonic hand hold. I also like to think, Danny marched onto the plane moments later and told Catherine to get the fuck up out of his seat. 😊
It wasn't nonsense considering their jobs, he said multitple times that he gets her especially because he was probably in the same situation in the past. I hated Catherine when she left too but in the end, it's not like she left him for nothing, she was doing something good for her country. And let be real, it's hard to keep a relationship with these kind of jobs/in this kind of show, I was almost sure that something bad will happen to her because I saw a it lot before. Steve wasn't well in the last season and it was obvious, it was like he didn't had a purpose anymore, Five-o wasn't enough for him anymore and it makes sense. Unlike him, Danny had a familly too, kids. Him being with the love of his life again it was probably the best in the end, the dude deserved it, that's why they had to bring Cath. It was always about timing with them too, they were older and it was the right time for more. And we don't have to be that negative about it, Hawaii was Steve's home after all, them returning at some point makes sense.
Okay so I know this is awhile ago but I'm rewatching all of Hawaii five-0 and my god I love these two❤ i think they would make such a cute couple both inside the show and out. My favourite two parts of this is when danny says "it's why I love you babe" and when steve is talking about how he would go in somewhere before Danny if it made him feel better🥺
i honestly believe they ship it themselves lmao. i feel like the creators did too, but were too scared to go through with it due to backlash maybe, so they hid it with jokes etc, but for those who actually shipped it saw their love for each other. or i’m over-reacting. either or their relationship as a whole, platonic or romantic, is such a lovely relationship.
