It honestly warms my heart that this game hasn’t died I remember playing it on the Xbox 360 because it was a free game with gold and I fell in love with it countless summer nights where spent grinding with my friends tell 5 in the morning before our parents woke up for work good memories XD
For the last tip the more important thing for elemental resistance is that some towers dont effect them rather than your weapons. Poison res enemies will just walk through gas traps and ensnare auras without problem unless your remove their resistance through a strength drain aura or darkness trap. This is important in endgame because lightning towers are used a lot and you have to remove the lightning res of enemies to even hit them with that
#23 theres actually loads of hotkeys like this that do different things, like P hiding your towers on the map, B swapping between not showing colors on gear, not showing beams on gear (transcendent and above) and then showing colors and beams, ctrl b switching between beam du snapping (for EV defenses) and not snapping, ctrl c for enabling in game censor (something youll discover much much later once you reach the highest quality in the game, ultimate++), etc etc, so knowing these hotkeys and whatnot is very good to know!
tip 34: dont be afraid to mix and match defences from diffirent characters. It helps you do difficult maps without having to need high stats :P By the way, this is an amazing guide for new players. 😄
Loved this game on ps3 or 4 been a long time. Used to run with 3 friends so being able to multibox on pc will make my solo run feel less of a hassel running around getting towers set up.
@@Retro_Pat i wanna say this is the average new player experience, but literally every single day we get people joining the discord servers asking for help on how to progress, chiku shows them his guide, and weeks later boom, you got someone already at like 4k stats, so from my perspective, thats the new player experience lol, but im sure theres lots of people like you that dont engage with the community at all that play the game this way (ofc you do engage with the community, but in a much different way, that being youtube comments)
@@Retro_Pat i see both sides of the spectrum really, everyone comes into this game with a different goal in mind and thats whats so great about it, theres so many ways to play it :D
I recently started playing pc DD when i played on ps3 back when. thankyou for sparking that excitement and joy for playing DD again. my favorite map was mirago so i will def be playing more of that again!
This video is absolutely fantastic! You covered a ton of points I never even knew about, thanks! What do you make of the alternative classes? (Adept, Countess, Ranger & Initiate)
Glad to see this game is still kicking 11 years later. I used to play with my friends back in high school on a base model PS3 with bad thermal paste 😂 Just got on PC yesterday and am looking forward to diving back in.
The student has become the substitute teacher! Lets hope that one day he gets his PhD after an entertaining Dungeon Defenders adventure! Thanks for the video brother.
I love this, really shows how much you’ve learned over the course of the play through! It’s kind of funny, I’m actually a victim of the first tip. When I started playing (on PC) I had no idea that “ranked” was a thing, and that steam achievements are only available for ranked characters. To this day I still play locally! So despite having endgame stats (and no, I never used mods), and ~80% of dungeon defenders on nightmare hardcore completed, I don’t have a single achievement 😂. Oh well. Gives me the opportunity to play through again and add extra restrictions to make it last longer… the game goes by quick if you know where to go ;)
And you know me, I have a couple minor corrections ;) Tip 7: This has already been mentioned by a couple people, but I thought I’d add my two cents. If your heros are the only things that do damage during a wave, you get an *additional* 30% multiplier. NOTE: You can still place towers and get this effect, so long as the towers themselves don’t damage enemies. What this means is you can use things like ensnare and strength drain auras, physical beams (EV walls), gas traps, and other defenses to weaken the enemy and give you a better chance of surviving, but still allowing you to get the extra multiplayer. A popular strategy is to give DPS pets to each of your heros, set them up where you would normally have your defenses, and let the pets handle the enemies instead of running around with only 1 hero. This is the most efficient way to level up IF your pets are strong enough. Tip 17: Generally (and for early game), your point is absolutely true - survival is NOT the meta for XP. However, there are many maps that, on nightmare, give LOTS of mana for survival. This makes it efficient to grind xp and possibly equipment and rewards at the same time, depending on the map and the strength of your heros. Other than that, everything was basically spot on!
i remember playing this for the first time on the 360 there was an avatar pet thing you could get while playing this i dont remeber which one but it might have been the propeller cat great game
Hey, just to let you know, ranked dd1 servers are down rn, just incase you were wondering, its not just you, itll be announced when theyre back up, but idk if you have any way of recieving that information, like discord or something
Since ur not in the official discord server for dd1…. I think, Idk tbh but dd servers r down now… no idea when its back up, announcements and updates will be released in dungeon defenders runs and giveaways server, btw love the vid
Quick question~ does the game still have this "towers hit a maximum number of enemies" thing? They patched this game dead for me many years ago and Im just wondering if that was ever removed
I'll add one, Despite what the game itself recommends, Squire or Countess are better tower heroes than the Mage's, Elemental resistances can really haunt Mage tower set-ups and it is not something the Squire towers ever have to deal with, For a new player interested in a tower heavy build Squire or Countess is the way to go, Countess is a little faster than the Squire and is more of a build a tower and hide behind it type, Squire is slower and is more apt at build a tower then go hunt some mobs
Just 1 thing... can I add this video link to my steam guide? Just need to name the timestamps but I can do that later just in the comments if you give me permission ^^
Bonus tip: this game is pay to win. Hermit, EV and Summoner are busted and the female counter parts to the main characters have higher movement speed (and cast rate?) which makes them ideal for builder characters. Take my money, Trendy! (and Chromatic)
