2012, I’ve finished school the year before, gotten an apprenticeship as a woodworker. With friends from my school, forged bonds with them, smoking green and hanging with them, evolving into a man. So many memories of pain, happiness and growth. Now 10 years later, the one friend who gave me strength and guidance and love in those times is still by my side. But my whole life is completely different now. So so so different. I’m living a whole new life. I miss those times so much. I wish I did and said more. But those memories I will cherish. All I was saying is that dubstep was nice and fresh back in 2005/2006 before it reached greater audiences . The above track was released in 2011 (I think)- for me not the "golden age" of dubstep but just before it reached critical mass (and die eventually) - Again sorry If you didnt catch my bitter "joke"
SoundSelector I believe this song was made sometime in 2008. I remember it being featured on some Toronto radio stations originally, and that Zeds Dead included it in their live sets at Bassmentality in a local club. It got pretty big before showing up on TH-cam sometime after that. I dunno, I was still really into it all for a while until around 2012 when all hell broke loose as the younger crowds were all starting to pick it up.
+SoundSelector meh back then most dubstep people knew about was rusko and caspa and im fucking sick of their shit from back then, plus it was far more simple back then with its main focus being nothing but phat wubbs which was cool for a moment but got old quick unlike some good ol trance

I was 18 years old when this song came out. I went with my two best friends on weekends to the most underground and dirty nightclub of my city. The DJ was playing only Dubstep tracks . The people at this underground club where the friendliest and kindest people I ever met. I am coming from an posh family where it’s unusual to go to such areas, but my friends and I felt so free and alive there. One of them past away on an car accident last year, we were still super close. This song reminds me of that great time and memories. Life is painful sometimes, but we should never give up and we are blessed to be alive.

Actually Dubstep was the new form of EDM at the time this dropped. Before it was Trance and Techno, to name the biggest. Going back at least a decade, with huge DJ’s like Tiesto. Dude is OG EDM Festival DJ in early 2000s maybe even late 90s
