Skootie, the orbs of the elevator always go to the very bottom of the shaft before they start hauling. By digging the elevator shaft all the way to bedrock, you worked against its strength. With the elevator, you always play lateral before vertical.

I watch Skoottie for gameplay, NL for pop culture banter.
Can we all just agree that Skootie is entertaining simply for the fact that he is the most measured and well thought player for the majority of games he plays. Manz makes me think about strategy in a different way every time.
He's the only streamer who I know beyond certainty is a better strategy game player than I am, an I'm a 2000 rated chess player
Seeing someone do well in a game feels so much entertaining than 30 minutes of smalltalk with little to no progress done in-game imo

I never really noticed how your circle of light gets smaller as you go down. The speedy movement definitely highlighted that as it rapidly shrank and grew lol

Pro tip: when the battle is closing and the final foe is swarm of facehuggers, leave 1 alive and head into the caves before it ends, it'll profit u a few extra seconds at the cost of a itty bit of health.
Also be sure to move ur laser up to the middle when the battle ends (especially in the early game), the timer only starts when you leave the computer.
just to not waste precious seconds during active combat.

I know [now] it's a stream notification for something or other, but I spent *so long* trying to figure out where the eff the quiet "giraffe" sound was coming from while watching your videos, because it was *just* quiet enough that I didn't twig to it coming from the video lol
Thanks for testing the elevator. It's only 2nd best after the upgraded teleporter but doesn't use a slot. You really had to help out the elevator to pull stuff up.

need to plant tree seed in an area where there are at least 2 resource types. drop the seed on one of the resources and be sure not to mine the close resource types and keep them joined by rock. tree should produce all resources the roots reach
So the three resources stacked next to each other here 4:00 would be pretty much ideal I’m guessing? Any idea where the tree seed is most likely to spawn/if it spawns every run?
@@sirondium i dont think it spawns every run, much like the mushroom and one way teleporter, seems to be randomised

He seems very averse to using the tree seeds. Lots of comments explained how to make it very useful but he's just not that into it.
@@ctwest3601 I can see why. To use it most effectively you’d have to leave resources unmined around the top of the map, and then hope to find the tree in that run and within a relatively reasonable time period for it to still be worth growing as opposed to just mining the resources. The other option is to just look for unmined resources once you have the seed, but since by then you will most probably have gone through most of the upper layers, the only unmined resources will be extremely resource rich blocks near the bottom, which are almost definitely worth more just mined out immediately, especially around the time one usually finds the seed. Like skootie said, prestige mode is probably when the tree is the least useless. I just want to see him play on a harder difficulty, and without the longer waves which make the game 1000 times easier.

The tree is actually pretty op after putting some resources into it I only had the 2nd upgrade for drill,speed and carey capacity but the fruit made me so quick it didn't even matter

It's not really a waste to eat fruit at the end of the day since the timer pauses during the wave. Also you really don't need to add additional orbs to the elevator that early; it will cope until you get quite deep with getting all resources to the top even with no upgrades and no carrying on your part.

yeah because the elevator was nerfed too much, in the previus version (when it was called dome romantique) the elevetor just elevated the items without the orbs, so there was no clogging and it was just busted
I did this same run with sword, repel, ele and drillbert. It went very well..
If you buy an activated battle ability once the battle has started (even if no enemy has appeared on screen yet) then it won't be available in that battle; alas you bought the Snare Roots too late.
Ohhh I never knew you could keep buying additional orbs, I assumed it just maxed out at 4 and concluded the lift was therefore useless

Its almost as if game divided the resources in 10 parts, gave 9 parts to skoottie and 1 part to other players. Like wtf XD

Nobody does this, but since ore spawn in veins can you probably drill every third row instead of every second, if you find something, just dig out more in that specific spot.

@@eightinnn Yep. I know doing it this way is more popular, since you don’t overlook anything, but it’s just not necessary.
Admittedly though, when the game was first released I stippled everything on the layer I was mining and I kind of miss doing that, the space was so open! (This was before they added the dark mist, so I could see all around me and didn’t need to worry about monsters sneaking up on me.)

Anyone else notice that the first 5 ores he mined after the first 2 all gave 1 resource which is the minimum. I feel like I just watched him get scammed.

Can anyone say what's the use of pets in dome keeper?
I love how this games pay (resource cost per item) doesnt drastically scale like most games. You already have really hard enemies and stuff to dig through that sucks. If upgrades got really expensive it would be a boring game.
These games seem, short. Is there an endless mode, or an extended mode?

It releases so much pressure from having to move your resources up, which lets you spend much more time mining

Elevator was far from fully ugpraded to. Full speed upgrade would be more correct to say.

Just found this game and it's kinda got me conflicted. The gameplay and upgrading seems very fun, but it's odd to me that there's just an instant win item you can just stumble across at any time. Unless you literally never upgrade your base it's impossible to lose.

Everyone gets so negative when the lift starts to clog up with resources, but the reason it's so clogged is because having it do all the lifting means you're spending way more time mining and finding resources. Does it really matter that there's a lot of resources in the lift when you have 15-25 iron waiting for you every time you go to the surface?
