One tip is to criticize yourself. Look at your work and see if there's anything wrong. For example if something is too fast, add more frames, or if a pose doesn't look right try fixing it by looking at what others or do what would make it look smoother. I'm not even the best at animating myself, I have to re draw my frames a lot because of how shit it looks sometimes.
