best band got first tattoo of 8 foot seen live many times living in Dunedin in NZL ive met Jack Hammer OG front man he is the man even got a signed photo of the original line up keep 8 Foot vids coming
Remember being in a record store, hearing them perform live when i was 13, it was the release of their second album. Was hooked from then, defiantly influenced my path towards more extreme forms of music. Seen them live a bunch of times, Mate was taking bass lessons from the original bass player, did a stint on bass for them in later years. Had their second vocalist do guest vocals on our LP in later years. Great bunch of dudes. Was 100% the heaviest band to make it on mainstream TV in NZ. There was a bunch of lineup changes in later years, some of which are still friends, playing in other great Kiwi bands. \m/
Haha, awesome to see this band out in the wild in front of people who aren't from NZ. All those bands you mentioned from the "related music" at the start are fantastic and worth a listen, but you gotta check out Deja Voodoo
I saw these guys live at "the thirsty kiwi" in Invercargill, New Zealand in my teens. They've always been a massive presence on my playlist. "Season for assault" is a good one too.
These guys live back in the day went OFF. Saw them in wellington with frankenbok and between us (the moshpit) and the band we collapsed the entire front of the stage
The original singer is one of two that i have heard sing louder then the band holding the mic behind their back. Chick from devilskin being the other but she only did a chorus he did the whole song. No wonder he blew out his voice.
Tadpole was another big band around 8 Foots era. Got a mate a gig at one of the 8 Foot gigs, so they're still doing gigs around NZ. Here's a playlist of NZ music I'm putting together. th-cam.com/video/stHmFH5FAWI/w-d-xo.html
Mike B has his 8 Foot Saliva, all I see with the band name is 8 Foot STEVIA, my coffee sweetener of choice. The opening riff and the hook riffs were cool, but everything in-between kind of lost me. This is the kind of band that would be playing in one of our local dive bars on $5 Bucket of Beer night....I would just be sitting in the back with a rail bourbon and club soda doing nothing but people watching and wondering what everyone does during the day to pay the bills.
New Zealander here, I LOVE this band, been listening for years, glad to see it out there and still being played
Welcome my friend! glad to have you here!

Man what an era of wasted talent, Tadpole was so good and one of the dudes still had to work at K Mart to make ends meet. 😢
As a kiwi, when you started reading the related artists it took me out lmao
