Mike. I think there is one more endings according from few sources. Idk how to access it but you can play as a dog (you met earlier beside a man before in between a hill of rocks. I think that dog has some visions/key or backstory what happened to that town and a maybe met a owner who don't know. Hope you bring this too for story explain. Edit: After rewatch from other channel who play this game, there is a way to play as dog. There is a stockpile of rocks hidding somewhere in town and inside, there is a "bone". Give it to the dog (in chapter 1) and it will trigger in next chapter). Need play new game of course.
1:40 in and they mention it is hot out. From just this small peek, I would assume the "dream'" was reality, this person was killed by whatever was chasing it and they now wake up in hell. I can't imagine this is the full story though, since it is so clichéd and obvious. I do love games that bait you like this. You know they arn't REALLY intending to fake you out but set you into a mode of trying to guess what the fake out will be. It puts you into a different state of play and ensures you can be even more susceptible to a moon logic twist. When you are actively invested in trying to make sense of what the game is telegraphing between the lines, it can make you less focused on the immediate game play and emotional when they throw something wierd and unexpected your way that can kind of be seen as logical in hindsight. Very clever game design when using limited resources or choose to use limited resources for achieving the selected ambiance and (assuming this is the case) I can't wait to see where it goes!

It was likely the pastor had their head split open from the monster coming out and the protagonist getting their head crushed from the monster, also, they're both the most significant characters.
That woman in the portraits was Mary with what I think was a demon instead of baby Jesus (so basically a messed up version of the Madonna portrait). The upside-down cross was a demonic trope, and the ghost named Lilith was probably a reference to the mother of demons from some Jewish traditions. Definitely interesting and felt like Lovecraft mixed with demons so really cool. Great video Mike!

The jump from an old forest setting and overgrown, simple graveyard to a more modern room and cars made me think of something. We've had plenty of media where a character will either jump forward in time or have a premonition of the distant future (typically our present) and it will be cast of jokingly as delusional depite us knowing better. But..what if that WASN'T the case. What if our modern world WAS actually a dream fabrication within the mind of someone, living in a reality where things are stuck at a much more primative level by our perspective. It is sort of the kings dream in "Throught the Looking Glass" meets the more standardized version of this kind of story. What if our world IS a fantasy and everything in reality closer matches the dark ages because combustion engines and modern design ARE impossible feats and our "logic" on how they work is just dream logic, we arn't able to see for what it is. I don't think I've ever seen this type of twist done despite the many times I've seen media stories starting similar. They always end with it having really happened of the dream being an unwitting premonition of what WILL happen.

In my personal opinion, this seems like one of the most incredible horror games of all time: Beautiful forest-scape, Incredible graphics (As it still manages to maintain it's PS original graphics), well gory (not too over the top and still has that terror in it), fantastic gameplay and an absolutely GORGEOUS story/ending. Surely not the best however still a terrific and terrifying game.
