Thank you for your review. I am researching and comparing toilets for my van/tiny house. Having used a chemical camping toilet for a while and not liking the amount of water used and the heavy lifting to empty it. Good review - excellent questions.
Yeah, I'll never understand why composting toilet makers use boxy solid waste bins. OGO really got it right with their cylindrical container and paint mixer-like agitator. If someone made a completely manual version of that, I'd be sold.
The secret to portable compost toilets is separating the waste. I'm beginning to think that 2 2 separate buckets with tight lids (with an air pressure hole) would accomplish the goal for a fraction of the price and no moving parts or messiness. I use such an arrangement in my cabin and rely on pine shavings to help with odors and decomposition of the solid waste. On those occasions when urinating is accompanied the pooping then sawdust or pine shavings will absorb the moisture. Admittedly you are taking up some valuable extra storage space.
Thanks sooo much for your candid true review!!!! Are you still using it? I'm considering this for full time use in off grid tiny house! Thanks so much! Your video rocks btw thanks for the honesty !!!!🎉
I'm still using it! Still really really like it! NHs gives more of a real feel which is sometimes wanted in tiny houses but imo it's much harder to clean
Great video ! I'm thinking of getting one of these and I'm curious to know how comfortable it is ? I currently use a nature's head & it's not comfortable at all. I know it's not meant to be a recliner lol we're just there to do our business but it's still something to consider. Your thoughts, please ?
Well, that's honest. Thanks, I appreciate your reply. I hope your channel blows up, but that you never get so big that you stop interacting with people in the comments
I deffintly think it could work for tent camping if you dont have to lug it very far and if your only staying a night or two I think this would be overkill
I haven't done it yet but I have a plan to take corregated plastic and bend it into triangles that fit nicely into the corners, In my head that works well haha
@@patch.produxtions if you do side work now that I retired I would possibly like to hire you to help do a few things to my van that I just can’t get comfortable with. If you do work for us old guys. Lol. Let me know then we can get in touch with each other
Can this be placed in a shower in a camper van? You mentioned the fan cannot get wet and I’m hoping as long as the lid is down it wouldn’t be an issue.
How long can you go without having to dump the containers? Do you put your toilet paper in there or do you place it in a bag so you don't have to dump as often?
My TP goes in it and haven't had much of a consistent usage lately to have a confident anwser on how Long in between but it's a good chunk a time, A month or 2
Your videos are so helpful, thanks so much! I bought two, and my first one arrives Monday. May I ask, what did you use for substrate, and can you recommend a "composting toilet paper"? I've never used one of these. For my purposes they are for camping and emergency (such as The Big One).
I compost my waste in my cabin and NEVER mix the toilet paper. The used toilet paper is placed into a plastic bag inside a small metal pop top garbage can and thrown out frequently. I never noticed an odor but you could keep lavender oil on hand and sprinkle it in on the first batch of toilet paper and it will last till the container is full.
Ah no, not at all. A chamber pot is used overnight and emptied in the morning. This composts faeces and may last for weeks before emptying the solids. The urine is emptied as required. Far from being a chamber pot!
Yes I do, Still love it and they've even made some upgrades to the version I have so any grief I have is much better now. If you need to fit one in a small space it's a great solution and way nicer than not having one at all
This may be the best toilet for my van. Thank you for the review.
Your van is absolutely amazing!!!!!
Thanks so much! shes a good van! haha
Thank you for your review.

Thanks, great review. That is exactly what I'm looking for!!
Thanks for the review. How long does the carbon filter last? Thanks!
thanks for checking it out! Refillable Pellets get replaced every 6 to 12 months depending how much you use it, just pop the cap and refill
@@patch.produxtions Thanks for the reply. Subbed/liked.

Thanks! This made my decision on what I am going to get for my van!
Great review! Thanks!
I found this helpful. Think I'll just build my own. Cheers for the review

How often do you have to empty it?
Great review!
thanks for the review, mine is actually coming next week

Thanks! I'd say it's equally or less comfortable than a natures head

I want someting like this for tent camping. Do you think this will work out? I don't need the fan portion.
I deffintly think it could work for tent camping if you dont have to lug it very far and if your only staying a night or two I think this would be overkill
Would like to know how you hooked up the fan. Do you need a designated wire? 12 volt? Battery?
Yup! I just wired the supplied wire onto my 12v fuse panel
Did you ever make something for the corners that don’t mix? We are having the same issue and trying to come up with a solution.
I haven't done it yet but I have a plan to take corregated plastic and bend it into triangles that fit nicely into the corners, In my head that works well haha
Good to see you again.
good to be back! more to come!

Can you put a bottle cap on the top of the fan when you spray the unit?
I would think that'll work yeah, might need a lil tape, good call!

Yeah deffintly, As long as lids down it would be no problem at all!
They have specific wiring to be used in wet areas. They have a video about it
Put small plastic bag around the fan, secure with an elastic band? Before cleaning.

Hope you used that link haha!! thank you! I use coconut husk and just any old rv tp. Haven't developed a favorite yet

Do you still use these toilets? Do they work well? Do you recommend them?
Another glamorized version of the old fashioned chamber pot.

The chamber pot didn't separate waste and didnt control for odor in tight quarters. (During wartime our urine was collected for munitions.)
Hardly.
Can a blueetti power box be used to power it with USB or ac
They could put a gasket for a better odor seal
Where do you dump it?
What is the cost?
close to 800 bucks
Do you still use the Cuddy toilet? Any different pluses for minuses? Would you still recommend them?
Yes I do, Still love it and they've even made some upgrades to the version I have so any grief I have is much better now. If you need to fit one in a small space it's a great solution and way nicer than not having one at all
Bi- carbonate of soda or cider vinegar should sort the smell .
Just use a baggie and a rubber band around the fan vent.
Absolutly not....Im all about the separator toilets, but that is a DEAL BREAKER...all that "crap" flling in the bottom. Nope...LOL
apple cider vinegar
Sure glad it's not sh!t. Happy poos to everyone 💩
It’s private, it’s not. It’s private, it’s not.
haha I'm sorry! still learning!
@@patch.produxtions - LOL! I had a nice potty pun, tried to leave it as a comment… but couldn’t. Sadly I’ve forgotten it and it’s lost forever. 🤣
too fiddely .. bag potti =no moving parts
You lost me at 2:50 ...... all that extra cleaning you gotta do....🤮. I think the laveo is a better option.....but hey, whatever works for ya!!! 👍👍👍👍
