Oh boy, here's another one: *BlazBlue Alter Memory* Basically, it was a 2013 anime adaptation of BlazBlue Continuum Shift with little to no reference to that game's lenghty story mode. There were several problems, from the omittion of Calamity Trigger (the series first game; Continuum Shift EXTEND had a playable condensed version as a bonus) to the lack of character development and the rushed storytelling. I will give FUNimation credit for hiring almost every voice actor from the games to voice their respective characters in English, but good grief, that series was a mess. The anime ran for a single self-contained 12-episode season. To put in perspective, the recapped version of Calamity Trigger's story mode from Continuum Shift, would have taken at least 24 episodes; Continuum Shift's story mode would have taken 2 to 3 times as much.

The only defense of the Zelda cartoon is this: It actually aired before the game released. So they drew inspiration from the top tv show of the time (Moonlighting) and applied the personalities of the leads to Link and Zelda.
Loved waking up at 6am to a quiet house and dragging my quilt into the front room to catch Conan the Barbarian and Biker Mice from Mars before the more popular cartoons followed. It felt like my own little secret.
My 6 year old nephew loves rabbids invasion and has never played the games lol He also loves Mario I'm thinking about getting him Mario + Rabbids for Christmas

So, on the Legend of Zelda show, it kind of has an excuse for not mentioning the tri-force of courage. The show released in 1989 and was based on the first game in the series. That game only mentioned two pieces of the tri-force. You were actually picking up shards of one tri-force throughout the game. So, it kind of has an excuse. The name tri-force was more about it being a triangle than actually 3 pieces of power.
Rayman did had a cartoon show before DK, but it was cancel for some odd reason, but the four episodes are on TH-cam for your viewing pleasure. All of the characters were from games published by Acclaim, Narc, Wizards and Warriors, Arch Rivals, Kwirk, and Bigfoot the monster truck. It was attached to a live action video game series, named Video Power. Which mainly consisted of tips, guides, and cheat codes for games.
The "Tri" in Triforce is more in reference to the relics being triangular in shape, with all three Triforces combined making the complete Triforce. The original game only had two Triforces, with the third coming in the second game. That said, the Zelda cartoon did come out after the second game, with one episode even featuring an enemy from that game, so they just plain didn't fact check.
Dude, I actually liked watching Donkey Kong Country as a kid. Plus, the animation wasn't all that terrible for the time, especially when you think of other computer-animated offerings like Reboot.
An R Rated Mortal Kombat animated series has a huge potential. Lots of characters and decades of storyline to adapt can make it go for lots of seasons. I don't think we will get one while there's an upcoming new movie, but maybe later it can happen. Probably a streaming service exclusive like Netflix or Amazon Prime. As long as it has a good animation.
Godamnit, don't remind me of the Dungeons and Dragons animated show, it got cancelled before it's final episode was finished, so 6 year old me never found out if they got home or not. (Even when the unfinished script was made available online decades later, it still doesn't say for sure)
