The board was a compact weird locked up system so I couldn't get a feed for my camera. Luckily I had enough XLR, and a 58 in my case so I duck taped it and ran a direct line to the camera. I also built duck tape supports so the whole 3 pound rig wouldn't fall over.

Price quotes Paul Tillich: "[Christian] Fundamentalism has demonic aspects in that it ... forces Christians to suppress knowledge". Apologetics leads to despair, Price says here, and nails why I ultimately gave up on Christianity after almost 40 years: modern apologetics destroys faith. Hebrews 1:11 was an attempt to differentiate, but it is no longer taught in Christian churches. Which puts me in the position of abandoning Christianity not because of the Bible, or the faith itself, but because I could no longer deny how ultimately horrid that "old time religion" has always been. Great talk, Dr. Price.

These guys are good but not necessary for people like me. Ever since I was a child in Sunday school, I just couldn't believe in the talking snakes and walking on water crap. I never saw a supernatural miracle and I saw nothing loving about god. I felt spiritual but I knew it was just my emotions and my goodness. I didn't need god to tell me hurting others is bad. Church was a good place to sleep and mix with girls. Biblical scholars are smart but I didn't need a bible scholar to tell me what's fairy tale and what isn't. I new life was unfair and cruel, due to nature. God just didn't do enough good to satisfy me. I saw through the hypocrisy of fellow church members. Kids were more interested in living and having fun than in god. Adults were more interested in surviving and making money than in god. I saw through all of it. It was just the best place for people to group together and feel needed and pretend they'll live forever.
The really astonishing thing is that the pastor who taught you in Sunday school was brainwashed as a little child, just like he tried to brainwash you. It's an endless chain. You will be hard pressed to find a Christian who decided to convert at the age of twenty-something, after he had been studying comparative religion for many years! No, they were all brainwashed practically since the day they were born.
I was all like 'How did the snakes talk? They don't have vocal cords or big brains. Or a tongue that can talk.'
They just shrugged.

Interresting to listen to...but for me living in West-Europe, you can see what a world of difference there is between christianity in the USA and over here. Sometimes hard to understand. But this is almost "alien" to us.
The same in the Czech Republic where there is according to the statistics a majority of atheists (we are basically an "atheistic state").

Such miracle believing evangelicals exist but they are not even close to mainstream and public discourse pretty much laughs them off or more often ignores them completely. It's just not on the radar.

I love that, although Price does not believe in the truth of scripture, he nevertheless draws valuable lessons from it, and continues to see value in the tradition. He's very calm in his approach to the subject.

I don't understand at all anyone picking their belief systems off a shelf. The teaching that is the new testament is something to be studied, not adopted for want of a belief. One seeks to know God, not be assured, without evidence, or confidence, that He is there. By the time we become capable of any kind of reflectiveness we have already been through a mighty process of conditioning. At the heart of the spiritual message there is the assumption that we have profoundly misunderstood who and what we are. And this much, to my mind, ought to be obvious. There is much talk of rationale and evidence based living, but I see no evidence of it in individuals, whose rationale seeks only to support their untested and unfounded belief systems. What appears before consciousness as a complete world is logically subjective. But it is this world view, as a whole and in its many parts, that can and should be the subject of questioning. Our minds were made up for us, and we were merely duplicitous in the act

If you believe the Bible, then you'd have to agree with Jesus in Matthew 15:24, that he only came for the lost sheep of the house Israel.
You'd have to agree with Jesus in Matthew 5:18, that no jot nor tittle of the Old Covenant Law would pass away until the Old Covenant system, temple and people associated with it, (what first century Jews referred to as "heaven and earth") passed away.
You'd have to agree with history, that the Old Covenant system, temple and people associated with it passed away in AD 70.
You'd have to agree with Paul, who said in Romans 5:13, "where there is no (Old Covenant) Law, sin is not taken into account." This of course means that salvation was only needed by those who had sin taken into account, which is not us today.
You'd also have to agree with Hebrews 9:15, that redemption was only for those who sinned under the first covenant, which again...is not us today.
The bitter pill of truth, is that nobody has been saved nor redeemed for nearly two thousand years. The "church" has been in a massive error; a complete hijacking of ancient Israel's redemptive narrative.

The gentiles Paul and the disciples were preaching to were either Greek converts to Judaism or the elect diaspora, grafted-in descendants of the tribes of Israel who had been dispersed among the nations. Through the ministry of the disciple's great commission, they were called out from the nations to again be a holy nation of kings and priests, to be sealed for the day of redemption, which only they lived to see. Nobody today is a gentile of that sort.
Today's self-professing, self-appointed "Christians" have been hoodwinked into believing they're sinners under a law that passed away...and need a savior who said he came for someone else...who will save them from a sin that's already been removed...and a judgement that already happened...and allow them into a covenant that was made with someone else. The problem seems to be that no-one 'knows' God in the sense that you might 'know' a close friend. Some people clearly 'know of Him' and worship Him as they have been instructed so to do. Unless and until He is 'known' The Bible will remain largely an impenetrable mystery. It is predicted in The Bible however, that one day everyone will 'know' God and perhaps then the endless wrangling will cease (or at least diminish).
The nature of God is for the time being a mystery and currently speculation abounds.
If Christ comes again it might at last be possible to put the matter to bed, but who knows when that will be?
The last time i heard Jesus is dead was from someone i argued with who preferred to believe in Judaism and while they insulted Christianity. Guess what? within weeks,israel got a challenge sent to it a judgment because only Jesus saves. Just because you are dead in your sins does not mean Christ is dead. Your pitiful sentiments, deeming yourselves Pope and Magisterium of pagan ideology hardly compares to the awesome Power of God. Joseph Smith made it up, IMHO. Just before his murder, he fully expected rescue. But by that time, even his followers had enough of him. BTW, it was more of a battle than a martyrdom. He shot three people before they got him. Pistols had been smuggled in to Joe and his fellow prisoners, along with a bit of wine and tobacco. The pistol Joe used to kill three men was an Allen & Thurber pepperbox, a forerunner of the revolver. (Ex-Mormon who looked deeper here.)

if a genuine godzilla attack would happen, there would be news coverage of it almost immediately, from multiple sources, and even more importantly there would be verifiable evidence from the scene for all to study. you also need scientific knowledge to interpert the data and an objective mindframe, which the writers of the bible did not have, as the founders of a local and particular belief system
