I even doubt this car has 500bhp. I guess you mixed up the marketing from caterham. 620 stand for 620hp per ton based on 500kg car weight is also not the case anymore for new cars. That 620R is heavier than 1000lbs for sure. Especially with a windscreen and the bigger SV chassis, which has been used here aswell. I guess the car is closer to 1200 to 1300lbs.

He must have gotten confused with the Caterhams power to weight ratio, which is 580bhp per ton. The actual bhp is 311. It will do 0-60 in 2.79 seconds.
Caterham used to double the bhp number to give the bhp/tonne, providing the model number. So a 310 would have 155bhp. However Caterhams now weigh more than 500kg all up, so this is cheating at bit. The 620 does put out about 310bhp but it weighs nearer 550kg. Imperial live axle Caterhams (like mine) are lighter with a brazed chassis. With one seat, 1/4 tank of fuel and aero screen, I can get down to 505kg. Makes a big difference, especially the aero screen. The normal windshield is a massive air brake.

But, drag racing has declined so there are only six or eight of those, depending on if you are ok with an 1/8th mile strip or not. We also have over a dozen short track ovals some dirt some paved. Plus around eight go cart tracks, several of them paved courses, not just dirt ovals. Plus motorcycle dirt tracks im unsure of the exact number, plus two off road hill climb facilities, plus Silver Lake sand dunes in addition to the Indiana dunes park. Plus mud bog parks for the Jeep and 4x4 folks to get their respective freaks on and then there are Autocross events run in various large parking lots and road rallies conducted on our multiple and varied unpaved and rural regional back roads. So, yeah. We do strait roads. And everything in between.

The fact that you have no, or only extremely few curves, makes it possible to drive around in an oval... be it on dirt or asphalt. I live between two low mountain ranges with many curves. That is good fortune. But there is a reason why the better drivers come from such areas. Don't misunderstand, that doesn't mean that flatland people can't learn to do the same... There is a reason why there are/were many good rally and racing drivers from Sweden and Finland= many dirt roads in the forest with curves... When I feel like a crazy time chase jabe then I drive over the country road to the Nordschleife. On the way there I pass at least 10 hill climb worthy rides... I just want to give you to understand why we are familiar with just the best vehicles that were invented to drive fast around the corner and just have little glimmer of nitro dragsters and offroad monsters ...

Caterham bought the rights to the Lotus 7 after Lotus ended it's production. There are several replicas of these cars, but the Caterham 7 is the true successor to the Lotus 7.

For goodness sake tell Zac to learn how to use a four point harness correctly. Tighten the lap strap FULLY first not the shoulder straps. In the event of a crash he will at best break his sternum at worst “submarine” under the harness altogether.
