    I'm so grateful that there is serious awareness about the horrific danger of narcissistic abuse. My family almost destroyed me. 😢

    I agree with her. Some parents need to learn that still having your adult children and grandkids around is a privilege and not an entitlement. There’s boundaries and sometimes cutting people off is for the best. Narcissistic parents cause so much damage and worst part is they never acknowledge or apologise for it

    I haven't seen or spoken to my mother and siblings in 10 years. Best decision ever... I've spent the past 10 years as a travel and wildlife photographer living all over the world and having loving friends and a great career. I can't complain.

    I can relate to Kristin. Her father wasn't the only person that treated her badly, the viewers did when she was on DWTS, eliminated week 3 with a highest paddle of 8, the same as Carson Kressley, and lower than Nancy Grace!
    I've done a hypothetical DWTS season that takes place in Spring 2019 known as "Bad Losers", where Kristin is crowned the champion alongside her partner in season 13, her only season IRL.

    It's crazy to see people encouraging others to accept abuse. Abuse takes many forms and cant be healed with just talk or a million chances.
    Live up to your role of mother, father, wife ect. If you dont fit the bill its okay for people to walk away. Its a tough pill to swallow, but you dont owe your parents anything as an adult if they are verbally, physically, financially, or mentally abusive to you or your kids. If you abhorently disagree, I suggest you reflect on why without using the bible or any quotes.

    Its sad that things didn't work out after trying to make her dad part of her life.
    The interesting thing about this is on this many people have come out to support and relate with her story , no negativity. However, do people pick and choose who they relate their family drama with? Dont other people deserve the same sympathy and empathy when they go through challenges with their family members, I wonder. If it was M& H talking about this, people would have put them under the bus and yet, the stories may somewhat be similar although different causatives. Most of us would relate to so many issues that celebrities and their families go through. They are as human as everyone else. Some people as seen on this post have had no relationship with their parents for decades which means that impacts the relationship of grandchildren and their grandparents without the fault of their own but just due to generational disagreements. All this sums up to " no family is perfect " each has its own challenges of which probably outsiders may not understand but they will be able to give their judgement or opinion. I never had a relationship with my real dad. He was an absent dad. Unfortunately he passed 5 years ago. Sometimes I wonder if I had taken an initiative to track him down to findout why he stayed away after separating from my mom. I am a believer of having a relationship with a parent, but if that doesn't work for some other reasons, then try to love them from afar.

      My mother criticized and brought me down my whole life. She projected everything she thought she missed out on life on me as if I am the same person. It was toxic! It caused all sorts of issues in my life as an adult.
      When I let my then 4 y/o spend a night with her and she came back with a long laundry list of things we need to fix about my daughter I said enough is enough! You will not get to destroy another child. I cut her out of my life and that finally cut off all chains ⛓ from me and I never felt better since then.

    • @saramarshall2957
      @saramarshall2957 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @lianataylor1067 I only say I hope it's for a good reason because I spent a lot of time fighting with my mom in particular, but mom and dad are kind of a package deal. I would go long periods without speaking to them because of a huge fight where both of us said awful things. I truly thought they were so awful to me and made me miserable. This was until probably my late 20s. Maybe early 30s. I don't know why it took me so long to realize what the problem was, but the problem was definitely me. I was just miserable and had my own issues that really had nothing to do with them. They gave me a very normal childhood with everything I needed. They loved me and I just didn't appreciate it until I was older

    It is NEVER OK to cut your parents off!!! HONOR your father and mother is a command in the Ten Commandments. These are not the Ten Suggestions. It is the only commandment with two promises: That you may live WELL and may life LONG. No child has the privilege, right, or stupidity to cut their parents off. Respect for parents is a command, a given, and one of the pillars of society. The moment this goes, society goes. Read Romans 1:18-32
