    Just stumbled on your video. I have looked for a bit for a good daily driver shock/ lift set up that is good for trails. I ended up going with the ToyTec coilover set up with the 5100's.
    I'll probably out grow them, but from your video, it looks like they'll fit my needs for a decent amount of time while i learn the vehicle and its limits.
    I would love to check out some AZ trails once the temps cool down this fall

    I just had 5100s installed on my 2020 ORP with KDSS. Front set at top perch with Bilstein rear lift springs. Net lift came to 2.5 inches in front and just under 2 in the rear before new tires. Ride is great. So far after 3 weeks, no complaints.

      @@acemedidasI bought the kit from Bilstein lifts. Around $600 for the four shocks and two rear Bilstein lift springs and diff drop. I was thinking about installing it myself, but the KDSS made it a bit intimidating. I went to an experienced shop that had a good reputation. They charged around 750 for labor, plus they highly recommended UCA for any lift 2 inches or higher. SPC upper control arms were another 640. I was considering going with 34inch tires, so I wanted a body mount chop... another 300. If you stay with 33s you may be able to avoid this mod. I ultimately went with 33s myself for now. Another 100 for an alignment. I got about 5 degrees of caster, so it tracks great. Even with 33s, count on trimming a little plastic from the front bumper cover lower edges.

    Question, at 7:53 you mentioned if you do more overlanding with your family of 4 and this is me but not serious overlanding maybe more camping gear on the roof rack and trunk full bags, yeti and so on what next suspension would you suggest?
    Also I do drive on pavement and half a dozen or so do I go on dirt paths up the mountain but on a trail and nothing like going over boulders of rocks do u still suggest bilstein or what?

    Unless you're going to do hard core off road, I think the 5100s are the first mod any 4R owner should do. The factory suspenders are like surplus 1970s Cadillac units: waaaay too soft. The Billy's make the 4R operate as it should have from the factory. Handling is improved greatly and brake dive is cut in half. I did the "leveling" lift on my '21 ORP: front lifted up about 1" with stock springs all around. Once we get some miles on the truck, I'll probably do a full lift and go with 285s to make it more off road capable. Until then, loving the leveled look and better handling.

    Didn’t you notice reduced droop up front? I did when I tried the 5100s on my old 2007 F-150 about 6 years ago. Maybe I had them set too high?
    Also, can those tires fit without lifting the rear at all? I’m thinking about not lifting the rear, that way I can just barely raise the front. I don’t mind a little rake either. Just want to clear 285 Wildpeak AT. Probably on TRD Pro wheels, which I think would help a little more with the rubbing situation than your 0 offset wheels. Thanks in advance.

Dude didn’t do his homework before uploading this video. Thousands of people run the 5100’s with a bunch of different springs to suit their needs. I personally have Eibach 2.5 inch lift springs on my front Bilsteins set to the lowest clip so it’s the springs that give me my lift. A lot of people run heavier rate OME springs for use with steel bumpers and winches! Good video besides that! If this has already mentioned in the comments, disregard! 👍🏻

    Great video - anyone know what the estimated gas mileage is on this setup? Also, reviews on the KO2's vs the Falcon''s
    this is my daily driver and I estimate about 20K annually and need something that won't break the bank in gas. THanks

      Hey MK, the BIlstein 5100's are absolutely a great choice, while we like to get off-road these perform best during daily commutes on road. Give our team a call and they can get you setup with the exact kit you'll need for your Lexus 623-434-5277

    If i’m not re-using the OEM (front) shocks that came with the 4runner and bought , let’s say a spring that gives me a 2.5” lift (constant load of 70lbs-100lbs) which circlip should i go with? Since the first circlip gives “no lifts” but i have a spring that achieves 2.5”, sorry a bit confused, someone here mind shining some light my way, thanks.

    • @marcojauregui9885
      @marcojauregui9885 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Place the c-clip on the first (stock height) notch to get the 2.5" of lift with the springs

      Bilstein 5100 paired with OME 2884, or for additional constant weight on the front, use OME 2885 springs. Both are longer lift springs intended to be used with the 5100 circlip at the lowest 0 lift groove. I have the Bilsteins paired with 2884 springs on the front of my 2015 4Runner.
