    We have been shopping for a new suv...the atlas handled way better than any suv we tested. It really blew me away. It felt more like a sports car than an suv. Throttle response was better than others too...the transmission wasn't "hunting" for gears like others. I was very impressed overall with the way it drove.

      I love the one I got. It’s really nice to drive. I thought going from a Taos it would be a huge difference to drive it. It felt just as good but better overall because it’s all quiet instead

    We have a 2022 Atlas CS SEL R Line and love it. Took getting used to it after driving Hyundai Santa Fe’s for the last 19 years. The V-6 power and towing of a small trailer is excellent. The rear seat room is enormous as well as the cargo area.

    I'm a VW 2019 Arteon SEL Premium R-Line owner. LOVE IT! I would consider this model but the mpg's are just too low! My Arteon last road trip got 37.8 mpg. The V6 is the only way to go with this model. The I4 Turbo would make it underpowered.

    • @ahsanmalik1013
      @ahsanmalik1013 ปีที่แล้ว

      4 cylinder Turbo is actually quicker than v6. We own one. It is very peppier off the line. But run out of breath at higher rpms due to lack of horsepower and more torques are needed. Even then, it punches above the weight which is surprise.

    • @NateTrynaMakeMoney
      @NateTrynaMakeMoney ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ahsanmalik1013 However, it's still underwhelming for the weight of the vehicle. If you push it a bit too harsh very time, on the long run, the heat and pressure would depreciate the engine like crazy. So the v6 would be a more reliable choice but , yeah, after a few years, it would burn a lot of oil

    • @ahsanmalik1013
      @ahsanmalik1013 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NateTrynaMakeMoney 2 litre Turbo that is available in Atlas has been excessively used in bigger applications for Audi models and Porsche. 2 litre Tsi is as reliable as vr6 hence 2 litre Turbo replaced vr6 on massive scale.
      It is maintenance that is key to longevity. Premium oil and top brand gas are recommended.

    This CS is absolutely gorgeous. One my favorite if not my favorite in the class. It had the premium look if the Q8 especially on the SEL Premium R-Line. This new black model gives this thing so much of a stealthy look it could become an undercover police car. Maybe that’s a a stretch but it looks so good with the black trim. If this was black on black this would look really stunning. Thought it’s the style that gives this thing presents. It’s not big and not to small it doesn’t, slope all the way down and VW just got the details right. The cabin is fine for me at least, though the cabin is kind of dull because of the plastic but it seems pretty stream-like,clean and sleek. Though I think I would rather go for the SEL premium R-line because I like the chrome bits and the wheels better.

      @John-qh3sl ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Same interior design that was created for 2018 Tiguan which is becoming dated and not that luxurious.
      I've owned 2018 tiguan and I can say that this interiors have lots of cheap plastic materials everywhere. For Atlas, I really think they should step up and use more paddings and materials but it seems like it is pretty identical to Tiguan.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus ปีที่แล้ว

      @@John-qh3sl VE surveyed Americans and found that people wanted lots of space and weren’t as concerned with more plastics. All of this has been widely documented and written about. Americans wants cheap and big. So that’s the direction they went. And I own a 2019 Tiguan and I don’t find there to be any more plastic in there than any other Japanese or Korean or Mazda that I’ve owned. Even my new Audi has plastic in it. It’s easier to clean when my small children put their boogers everywhere.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus ปีที่แล้ว

      I like it too. The fake exhaust is not that. It’s just an aesthetic design. It’s not there to fool anyone because no one is fooled: VW says they don’t want to leave blank space down there. It’s boring. Same thing with the new Mazda CX-50. It has some black plastic designs on each rear corner that serve no purpose.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@gs98999 well surveys say Americans wanted more affordable large cars and SUVs and didn’t care about soft touch all over. Much ink has been spilled on this matter. VW is shooting for sales of 800,000 new car sales in the USA per year and stripping the cars out and making them bigger is a strategy that is paying off for them. When their cars had soft materials everywhere and were priced more expensive than other car brands Americans didn’t buy many. This was prior to 2011 when I bought my new Jetta that felt more cheap and plasticky than the outgoing generations with its thoughtful touches. That is what Americans wanted.

    Blah, blah, blah - looks good but you won’t want to drive it because the V6 gets such lousy gas mileage. I have the SEL Premium in this gray exterior. Great. I choose (have) to run it in “ECO” mode the entire time to try and get some kind of reasonable MPG out of this vehicle. Highway is okay, but running short trips it will give 6-8 MPG. Just horrible. Knew this was a knock, but once you have it long enough you realize how often you are forced to go to the pump.

      @@enriquet548 well they’ve had plenty of time (over 80 years) to get reliability down, if they ain’t got it now, I won’t be holding my breath lol yeah you’re spot on, inside is just covered in cheap plastic, my wife had a VW Golf and I had a GTI, the worst cars we’ve ever owned, always something going wrong with them, would never trust them again!

      @@sparks5063 yes you are throwing it around and a lot of others who never had Volkswagens like to do that and people hate and talk trash and it gets really old. I know tons of friends and family who love their Volkswagens. I bought mine because my neighbors all swear by them. Mine have been great. So to come on these reviews and say they are trash without being mature and explaining why is trash to me. Help us understand why we should stay away. Otherwise it sounds like immature trolling. I’ll take people serious when they give context and use their brain to write thoughts and opinions and be reasonable. I’m open to new ideas and I’m eager to listen to your experience. Now that you are explaining I’m happy to see what happened with your cars. And I’m happy to say that I’m sorry that you spent lots of money in good faith and had not one but two awful experiences that, at a minimum, caused you headaches and inconveniences and unplanned trips to the service department. I hate to hear that because I stand up for the brand. But it’s only because my experience was good from buying to financing to oil changed and enjoying both cars. I don’t own one now but I’ve told my best friends I miss a VW and I plan to get another one in 2 years or 4 years. I honestly just don’t hear complaints other than some of these reviews from older men who owned VW back in the 70’s and early 80’s when German cars were not all that maintenance free. I’m sure you don’t want to ever give VW money for another car. I will say that Dieselgate was a bad thing and made me question and distrust VW. That will be the reason if I decide not to get another. But most companies cheat and are corrupt at some point in their history. GM certainly has been, Ford, and Hyundai to name a few. They hide sh*t. It’s sad and unnecessary.
      Thanks.

    All the styling and “mean” or sport looks mean nothing once you start this car up. It’s a mean looking mini-van. The engine/ powertrain are sloppy and boring. Nothing “sport” about this vehicle except sheet metal. Have had one for 2 months and find the driving experience pretty boring. That, coupled with horrendous gas mileage, makes me wish I had spent more time putting this through its paces before buying. Oh well, I now have a more “sporty” mini-van.
