    Man, I just cant get over how beautiful a machine the F-15 is.

    If you got a real F-15 and shrunk it down ... PLASMO's model would have more detail

    • @Mediavidero
      @Mediavidero 5 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      I saw F-15E's in front of me and the model showed has more panel detail painting than the real one. Indeed, the real F-15E has pure mate, dark grey color, 0% gloss.

    Absolutely outstanding! You really are such an inspiration to those of us trying to get better at this wonderful hobby - and this really is one of your best finishes yet, especially since it is such a monochromatic scheme to work with!

    I think the length of your videos is perfect. I find I often fast forwrd through the longer videos. You edit yours so well. I am much more interested in your painting tecniques than sticking the plastic together.
    This jet turned out beautiful. You are a master model builder.

    I didn't know this brand, it looks nice for the price, thanks for this discover.
    for longer videos, sure I would like, but your videos are well assembly and clear to undersand. that'll be difficult to keep this good balance on longuer one, even more you've done tutorial for details.
    an other discover for me is Models for heroes, a pretty nice concept.

    Also ... Having watched several of your vids, I have a curiosity ...
    Regarding seam filling. You use epoxy and other filler putty a good deal, which requires a fair bit of sanding off.
    A technique I've learned from model rocketry is to sprinkle baking soda into the seam, which you can then easily rub off to smooth. Then with a thin tube soak the baking soda carefully with thin or super-thin superglue to harden it in place. Works GREAT!! Filling spiral seams on tubes for instance. And little to no post-sandling or cleanup, but easy enough if needed. Easier than epoxy, to be sure.
    Perhaps you're already familiar with this method and prefer the way you're doing it. But maybe not. Everyone prefers different methods, and there is no "right."
    Again man. Fucking INCREDIBLE work. 100% museum quality. Seriously. Hollywood model quality. Light 'em right and put 'em in front of a green or blue screen with a motion control rig and composite that with other footage? .. Aww yeah. REAL!!
    And I REALLY dig (heh heh) your simulated mud mixture.
    EDIT: OH!! Also, when using epoxy, dipping your finger in rubbing or denatured alcohol works freakin AWESOME for smoothing out the epoxy. Better than water. And I see you already wear gloves, so I won't mention that. ;)

I am a bit of a noob to models (built em as a kid 20+ years ago) and painting. Look forward to gaining some knowledge on these subjects! :)

    I'm very jealous of all of you aircraft builders. I build armor, but every time I watch an aircraft build, I feel like I can build it perfectly. The only problem is, with armor, you can throw mud on a mistake but it's not good to do that to an aircraft...lol

    Great looking model!!! What was the clear epoxy you used for the lights? Does it shrink or deform when it dries? I've been trying all sorts of clear drying materials and have yet to find one that doesn't change from the form you set it at.
    Well done on donating some of your models to vets, bravo!

    • @idaemonplasmo
      @idaemonplasmo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe it shrinks a little at 1 cm layer but under 5mm is stable. It does not make any damages on a model and drys after 5 hours. After drying is very resilient, stable.

    Real Strike Eagles seems to be rare in 1/72. It used to be F-15C's or D's with an extra sprue. I think even Hasegawa's and Revell's were fake Strike Eagles. Maybe it is better today?
