I feel like that new emotion is a form of trauma From the memory it seemed there was an accident caused by something, the accident resulted in Riley being traumatized and this new emotion to appear. It began to change Riley's emotions to bend to it's unstable nature and (possibly) her entire personality, at the end it seemed to give Riley the idea of committing self deletion, though it is unknown if that is real or just a figment I believe the emotions it corrupted also have something to do with it The emotion first corrupted Joy, taking away a way for Riley to be happy, morphing Joy into a sorta.. husk of joy, I'm really bad at explaining stuff.. but it's like when you see something bad and go "oh great" in a mocking tone, that's a husk of where joy would be but for Riley it's now more than a husk, it's a corpse Then Envy, all I got from this is.. maybe corrupting envy causes Riley to want to go back to how things were, to envy others who didn't have any trauma.. effectively making her condition worse and more sustainable to the idea of self deletion Wow.. I put too much thought into this Inside Out analog horror series- regardless, THIS WAS AMAZING

I actually like that the remaining emotions alive are Fear, Anxiety, and Ennui. How I see it is one of the different ways one responds to trauma. Of course, there will often be underlying fear and anxiety. However, not everyone reacts with the other emotions. While Ennui is typically the "boredom emotion", I see her surviving as representation of Riley shutting down as a trauma response. Those who shut down, push back their emotions and might not react as much to things as a defense mechanism. Riley's feelings are limited and restricted due to the trauma. At least, that's how I perceive it.
The trio is basically depression which explains why trauma decided to leave them instead of killing or infecting them. Now, you might be confused because y'all will say "Now, what about sadness? He died". yall don't understand what depression means, sadness IS depression herself, it's just something small like whenever you see you favorite ice cream that your about to eat splat on the ground and melt. Now depression is different, it's not all about sadness, it could also be the sign of boredom (ennui), hopelessness (fear), or stress (anxiety). I like how the emotions are depicted. The Trauma possesses Joy, Envy, and Embarrassment (symbolising the way trauma tends to undo the things you enjoy in life). It then kills Sadness, Disgust, and Anger (symbolising the loss of even negative emotions). Lastly, it drives out Fear, Anxiety, and Ennui (symbolising the loss of self-preservation)

Dude this is the best analog horror I've ever seen, especially for representing something that unfortunately happens so often in real life with some people. Everything started, as shown in the video, with the car accident, as my theory is that she got the trauma after being the only survivor from her family. The feeling of seeing die not one but both of your parents is maybe the worst that a human can feel, and logically after that huge mental damage Joy obviously starts to be corrupted: how can you be happy in such a situation? The experience that Riley has went through made her trauma (the anthagonist) slowly destroy not only Joy, but also the main emotions: Anger, sadness, disgust... These are bad feelings too, but not as much as the trauma. But Riley's mind has just remained with the actual worst feelings, emotions that became her main mood: Fear, Anxiety and Ennui. Now let's get to the end of the video: Trauma successfully introduces its lightbulb, completely manipulating Riley, as it says to her that her emotions now are gone, and only that Trauma is remaining. After that, we can see for some seconds Riley with her traumatized face. If we analise these seconds we can realise that Riley is standing on a chair: she's about to take her own life. The trauma destroyed her mentally, and now she's about to destroy herself too. This analog horror is so disturbing, but also so sad at the same time, as the hell Riley goes through is the same hell thousands of kids and adults go through, too. So we can say that the creator of this animation hasn't done it just to frighten us, but also to make us realise how life can be for many people. For me this one definitely deserves 10/10, even more if I could, the best Mandela Catalogue-based animation of all time.

I think one thing I haven't heard much about is disgust and how it's been infected. We see how joy and envy are affected by the infection of trauma, and in many ways it makes sense. A radical version of joy would be becoming manic in nature, and envy would inevitably lead to reckless behavior based on your wants, like wanting to open up the jar. The last one is especially important as the elongation of limbs would serve for such a childish emotion to reach stuff they want. But disgust is interesting in the sense that it doesn't really have a radical form and instead slowly becomes distorted physically, writhing and pulsating. I think that this might be some sort of metaphor for becoming disgusted with oneself. This coupled with other radical emotion would give insight as to why the route Riley takes at the end of occurs
alr, theory time, from what i can see, in the start, riley has a memory of her parents in the car, and she cant stop thinking about it, it means something happended, from what i can see, her parents suffered a car accident, leaving them dead, afterwards, what i can tell is a new emotion, maybe like Trauma or Nightmare, and the motive, is unknown, but from what we can see in the end, riley uh, plays the hang man irl, so what i can see, trauma is trying to kill riley, and with that, infecting the other emotions, if not then killing them, they couldnt kill anxiety and fear, so they might have to hide or survive
I really love this, especially with how it depicts the effect trauma has on a person and slowly consumes the person suffering from it and other mental health issues. Also, for anyone that doesn't understand the story. I believe what happened was that ine day the main character Riley and her parents where on the road going somewhere either on a road trip or to visit a family member or whatever. But sadly the family was in a car accident that killed the parents and left poor Riley horrible traumatized. I say this because the memory mentioned in the beginning does seem to hint at what i just said.

Dude this is the best analog horror I've ever seen, especially for representing something that unfortunately happens so often in real life with some people.
Everything started, as shown in the video, with the car accident, as my theory is that she got the trauma after being the only survivor from her family. The feeling of seeing die not one but both of your parents is maybe the worst that a human can feel, and logically after that huge mental damage Joy obviously starts to be corrupted: how can you be happy in such a situation?
The experience that Riley has went through made her trauma (the anthagonist) slowly destroy not only Joy, but also the main emotions: Anger, sadness, disgust... These are bad feelings too, but not as much as the trauma. But Riley's mind has just remained with the actual worst feelings, emotions that became her main mood: Fear, Anxiety and Ennui.
Now let's get to the end of the video: Trauma successfully introduces its lightbulb, completely manipulating Riley, as it says to her that her emotions now are gone, and only that Trauma is remaining. After that, we can see for some seconds Riley with her traumatized face. If we analise these seconds we can realise that Riley is standing on a chair: she's about to take her own life. The trauma destroyed her mentally, and now she's about to destroy herself too.
This analog horror is so disturbing, but also so sad at the same time, as the hell Riley goes through is the same hell thousands of kids and adults go through, too. So we can say that the creator of this animation hasn't done it just to frighten us, but also to make us realise how life can be for many people.
For me this one definitely deserves 10/10, even more if I could, the best Mandela Catalogue-based animation of all time.
No, that new emotion is actually bipolar sickness or even maybe schizophrenia which means that the accident actually never happened and it has just a false memory that bipolar made to make control of Riley easier.

I think one thing I haven't heard much about is disgust and how it's been infected.
We see how joy and envy are affected by the infection of trauma, and in many ways it makes sense. A radical version of joy would be becoming manic in nature, and envy would inevitably lead to reckless behavior based on your wants, like wanting to open up the jar. The last one is especially important as the elongation of limbs would serve for such a childish emotion to reach stuff they want.
But disgust is interesting in the sense that it doesn't really have a radical form and instead slowly becomes distorted physically, writhing and pulsating. I think that this might be some sort of metaphor for becoming disgusted with oneself. This coupled with other radical emotion would give insight as to why the route Riley takes at the end of occurs

I really love this, especially with how it depicts the effect trauma has on a person and slowly consumes the person suffering from it and other mental health issues. Also, for anyone that doesn't understand the story. I believe what happened was that ine day the main character Riley and her parents where on the road going somewhere either on a road trip or to visit a family member or whatever. But sadly the family was in a car accident that killed the parents and left poor Riley horrible traumatized. I say this because the memory mentioned in the beginning does seem to hint at what i just said.
