I just had my first play with this. Imported a vid of me messing with some Roland Boutiques from my library. Which was just recorded with the phone mic. Holy crap! Such fun! It's actually a really powerful app. The FX are awesome.
Jeremy, it's the 5yr anniversary to "I Need U" coming out, one of my favorite songs ever, seems like a coincidence that today's video is also from a Teenage Engineering product :)
@@RedMeansRecording Hopefully you're feeling better. Your content has gotten much better, even without the OP1 (which I think TE should send you a new one for all the sales you've inspired.)
Thanks for sharing. Had a new Pixel for a few months and never knew about this. It's actually kinda fun though more controls over FX and other features would be cool. The video part is a neat touch.
That was awesome, you always do such a great job of explaining these things. I largely got into Pocket Operators in the first place based on your videos.
I've wanted a pocket operator for so long now. But it was a bit expensive for how I planned to use it and I didn't want to fill my pockets with something else. Now I'm gonna get one for free!!! And it will take no extra room!!!
I taught music mixing and looping on multiple programs about 16 years ago, this is pretty cool. Although in many respects, not that much different from what we used to do. Faster, more engaging. I don't think it needs video at all, just think of it as a music producer
Love it. Unfortunate that it's exclusive for pixel for no reason whatsoever. The os is practically the same and should work totally fine on other android phones
Fine by me as I had missed any number of other apps that either 1) were Apple exclusives or 2) Rolled out very late to Android devices as Apple devices were prioritized. Can't speak to Android vs Google Android device rollouts. Hopefully some smart people out there will bridge the gap soon enough.
Looks great, however the PO KO is still the winner for me. I cant do much on my mobile cause i need to limit my visal inputs to concetrate and actually have something tactile to press. A fact that they have been able to cram almost all of this into one tiny motherboard with bare bones switches is still amazing to me. Great video nevertheless.
I know it specifically uses Tensor, but will they ever give us Samsung devotees a slice of the pie? My last PO-33 had faulty battery terminals and it is a nightmare considering how to solder w/o flux and perfect type of solder
for Pixel 5 or later :/ rip me with my pixel 4 I guess... I'll hope the pixel 7 will actually be an upgrade over the 4 and not a sidegrade like the 5 and 6 were
We live in a day and age where creating an app is so simple that people just use default templates for most of their apps, but seeing something like this that’s been engineered and well thought out is just amazing and I hope more people put effort into their apps, get some creativity going
Just a week ago I was wondering why nobody has made a 'video sampler', I even went on a hunt for one. Definitely want to see more audio/visual instruments like this.
If I knew how to program Max 4 Live I would have done it! But somebody definitely should make a fully quality video sampler, in the style of audio samplers.
Ha! I'm getting GameBoy Camera vibes from these compressed video snippets! Super playful! That's how you made a target-oriented system seller, Nintendo style!
I downloaded the app only learning what the in app tutorial taught me, but after watching this I can gladly say that I actually made some music that sounded good and was fun and worthwhile to make. Thank you.
This app works incredibly well on my Pixel 6 Pro. If it works as well on a Pixel 5 I would almost recommend people buy used ones just for this app. It's so good!
This app is so cool! It's so fresh and I don't have anything like it. I haven't used anything like it either. You make it look so easy... My projects are terrible. This comes with a learning curve. Thank you for the tutorial and walkthrough. It is very helpful.
I feel you, but tbh koala already murdered that idea. Only 1/8th thru this video tho, so there could be functions, relating to the music/sound aspect, that koala hasn't been able to do yet. Otherwise if you haven't heard of or tried it, hiiiighly recommend getting Koala ASAP my guy
I couldn’t disagree more! I’ve been searching for a video sampler app for ages, and there currently literally is nothing else which does anything like this with video…..unfortunately I’m on iOS….so I’m so jealous of pixel users right now!
Looks like a lot of fun. I wonder why it's restricted to just Pixel phones though. Others could almost certainly run it... If I can find a way to get the .apk, I'll try it and find out if it works.
Ya, they are working together for these products for homes. I believe they are already three or four different devices created, and I guess this is a plus, making pixel owners feel a bit better after their mess with the updates and the hiccups with the pixel 6.
Looks like it'll be hard to get the file to test. Yalp and Aurora both failed due to not having relevant phone models in their databases. Evozi failed; not sure if it's even functional any more. If anyone knows how to do it, let me know. Perhaps someone with a Pixel 5 or 6 could install Aurora from F-Droid and add their model info?
Pitty I can't try it out. But as a po-33 user this does seem to be that but upgraded :D Love that you can store projects and export them without having to deal with backups and a recorder and all ! I hope they make a library of sample packs with videos like your drum loop thing :D Would be awesome to browse some nice sound/visual easily :D Cheers for the video !
Bro...IS GOOGLE FINALLY HOPPING INTO MUSIC??? LET'S GOOOOOO!!! I hope that this stays an Android exclusive. Even better, a Pixel Exclusive. iOS has Garage band and a SLEW of other really nice Music apps. It's Android's turn.
Been a long time Pixel user and now I have yet another reason to love them.
This is verrrry cool! Like, VERY very coo! Please let this be official PO PX song. Totally can hear how much fun you’re having 😃
If Google is trying to market the Pixel for musicians they're doing something right
EXACTLY!
They should've just kept a headphone jack then.
headphone jack
I was just thinking this is going to be great to market the new Pixel Tablet when it comes out
I was in the market for a new phone and this literally just made my decision for me lol
Well Android bois, it took 14 years but we finally got an exclusive!!
Ayyyye!!! Lmbo
We have a lot of exclusives. But not just available on PlayStore is all.
this is DOPE. I am so glad I purchased a pixel 6 a few weeks ago. This makes it so much better.
I just had my first play with this. Imported a vid of me messing with some Roland Boutiques from my library. Which was just recorded with the phone mic.
Holy crap! Such fun! It's actually a really powerful app. The FX are awesome.
No matter how I start a project in this it always descends into the absurd and I love it!

@@RedMeansRecording Hopefully you're feeling better. Your content has gotten much better, even without the OP1 (which I think TE should send you a new one for all the sales you've inspired.)
Really great overview! As a longtime PO user it just seems so amazing to bring those same stylings into the video domain.
As a musician this is the best thing ever
When the motorcycle appeared as symbol on your bass hum 😂
Great demo as always, Jeremy. Hoping for iOS sometime in the future.
Unlikely - Google was Teenage Engineering's client here.
Thanks for sharing. Had a new Pixel for a few months and never knew about this. It's actually kinda fun though more controls over FX and other features would be cool. The video part is a neat touch.
I got the update for my today. And this thing showed up on the what's new notification.
It is soooo much fun.
That was awesome, you always do such a great job of explaining these things. I largely got into Pocket Operators in the first place based on your videos.
Fantastic experience :) thanks for taking me on the journey!
Would you possibly publish those drive folders for the premade instrument videos?? 😁
I've wanted a pocket operator for so long now. But it was a bit expensive for how I planned to use it and I didn't want to fill my pockets with something else. Now I'm gonna get one for free!!! And it will take no extra room!!!
now i can see why it is using the square thing to edit sound.Great job~~
Samurai champloo vibes at 12:50
trying to find a tutorial for PO and found you. this is soo funny. lol

Great video, also that bracelet? Watchband? Bandaid? Wrist garment, is a vibe vv good 🙌🙌👌
Only noticed this recently! I use another brand phone, but could a G. Tablet run this? This video feature is actually great.
Love it. Unfortunate that it's exclusive for pixel for no reason whatsoever. The os is practically the same and should work totally fine on other android phones
It reportedly makes use of the Tensor SoC
Android alternative? 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

every google app should be pixel exclusive
@@YasinHasan that would have disastrous effects on Google's market share
THIS TRACK IS FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
constantly refreshing to see if the link works

This is just so JOYOUS to play with
I know it specifically uses Tensor, but will they ever give us Samsung devotees a slice of the pie? My last PO-33 had faulty battery terminals and it is a nightmare considering how to solder w/o flux and perfect type of solder
Brilliant :)
How do you edit or even undo what's already been recorded?
Reminds me of koala sampler in many ways, but seems cool af and full of potential. Hope it gets available to all android users tho
Agree 100%!
Wow this is crazy!
omg, hope they bring it to other android devices at some point
Been rocking Figure on iPhone for a long time. This is a good excuse to pick up Pixel for next phone.
Was about to buy a PO-33, but I guess I don't have to lol
Unfortunately it's not on Google play!
Not sure why. Great app and video though 👍
What are the licensing terms in simple words?
Amazing. I need a Pixel!
And for iPhone?
you guys already have enough cool stuff
I'm about to cry I can't get this on my flip 3
THIS IS SO COOL
Thank God I have a Pixel (for once)
Wow.
And I have a Pixel. Crazy.
I'm still not buying a Field. Lol
This is pretty fun though.
Download doesn't work in EU ? I got a pixel 6 :(
Dope! I wonder if Pixel 4a supports this app?
4a5g does
“You are mom baby!”. Why?! Haha
Kraftwerk buffet
only for pixel?
I want to play around with this so badly but no pixel 😭
4king Awesome
Link is finally working . Sucks that yes it is only available for pixel!!did t know Google was shady like that .. oh well
for Pixel 5 or later :/ rip me with my pixel 4 I guess... I'll hope the pixel 7 will actually be an upgrade over the 4 and not a sidegrade like the 5 and 6 were
"Available for Pixel 5 and newer Pixel phones" ... nice, i've got an Pixel 4a 🥲
Ik me too 😭
Same...bummer.
I have a 4a 5g and I can download it, and it works
me too, I got it on 4a5g

Just a week ago I was wondering why nobody has made a 'video sampler', I even went on a hunt for one. Definitely want to see more audio/visual instruments like this.
Roland P-10 visual sampler. Pretty much SP404 for video if you want hardware.
There is a Korg Kaosspad 3 for video - it was madly expensive mind.
OP-Z Videomatic
I have a video mpc
If I knew how to program Max 4 Live I would have done it! But somebody definitely should make a fully quality video sampler, in the style of audio samplers.
Nais! 👌🏼
Pretty cool! Hopefully this paves the way for a wider variety of solid music making apps on Android.
The link isn't working for me.
Same
Same :(
It's working for me now!
You have to put in your credit card details and pay $2,000 😏
It also won't work if your device isn't compatible with the app.
Is the Pixel the OP-1 killer we've been waiting for?
And it’s free.
App not live yet? the URL is dead.
Same here
there's no way it ONLY for Pixel phones right? Any android would be able to run this
I give it two days until someone on XDA hacks it to work on any modern phone
Dude I have a Pixel 4a and it doesn't even allow me to install
@@antonliakhovitch8306 Or its designed around Tensor? 🤷♂️
The AI stuff, the video processing, the DSP functionality

That was SO professional, well done man! 🤣🖤
This looks like it's so much fun, I am sure what I make will be crap, but my kid is going to make 🔥
I wish they could do it just for sounds and not just videos. Adding the ability to use sounds without video in future updates could be awesome!

So glad I tapped the TH-cam prompt in the guide out of curiosity! Thanks for explaining linking

This is fun. For anyone wondering where the projects export to - check your files application. You'll find a PO Pixel folder there with the exports
Looks like a lot of fun. I wonder why it's restricted to just Pixel phones though. Others could almost certainly run it... If I can find a way to get the .apk, I'll try it and find out if it works.
It's because it's a collaboration with Google.
Ya, they are working together for these products for homes. I believe they are already three or four different devices created, and I guess this is a plus, making pixel owners feel a bit better after their mess with the updates and the hiccups with the pixel 6.
Because when it inevitably causes problems with other phone brands they don't need to care. :)

its very cool ... and only works for pixel phones ? what versions ? pixel 6 used pixel 4 ? etc ??
