Here's another original piece that has been released for about a year, now! It's not quite as polished as "Daughter Of The Moon" -- I view this one as more of a demo for a greater vision, and as such I hadn't posted it here. Since it was recently re-released on iTunes and Loudr, though, I thought I'd share it!
This song is greatly inspired by Azula's storyline in Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's a depiction of a desire for control and dread at the thought of being viewed as weak -- something I'm sure many of us can relate to sometimes. This one's a tribute to the fire and the fear in all of us.

My only complaint with this song is that I wish the last verse was longer. I think the contrast of Azula at the end with her at the beginning is just so beautiful and I wish we had more of it! Basically, I just don't want the song to end :(

I was not aware of this and now I kind of feel even more bad for Azula.
Yeah, I think about that sometimes. A lot of people think she was older than Zuko, but she was just indoctrinated into the war mindset far faster and easier than her brother. The episode with them at the beach shows this best. She literally does not know how to function outside of war, and it's several levels of fucked up that she was like that at only 14.
That won't stop the fanbase sadly
She always strikes me more as a girl who just saw everything as a game and was very good at playing it, rather than a full fledged psychopath. A true psychopath wouldn't care what their mother thought of them, although I guess we'll never know since we didn't get that fourth season.
There are comics set after the show. The one called The search will give you alot of zuko and azula stuff as they're looking for Ursa.

I'm listening to this for the first time, and I like this the most of the three originals. I love the energy filled style with the fiddle, but the key helps bring in the audience more enthusiastic instead of a high key tone. Overall, it's a great composition.

I remember when I first discovered you, I went to your bandcamp and got all the songs I could. This song was there, but didn't tickle my fancy. Eventually, I found this video and saw the picture and the meaning of the song suddenly clicked in my head. I totally love it now. It's funny how I didn't like the song because I didn't understand the concept, but now I love it XP

Your voice is absolutely amazing.
I like the song and all, but some constructive criticism: it's much to calm for Azula. In fact, it's much too calm and jazzy for its own lyrics. The background music for the chorus is almost exactly the same as that of the verses. Just some things I noticed, though.
The point of the song is to show how much she has developed and changed. She is actually jealous of Zuko because their mother preferred him over her. The song kinda sounds like she is singing to herself and at the end she says "I am broken I am lost. Was it really worth the cost" probably meaning from her choices she has turned herself to madness and she regrets her choices. "Stood to closely to the flames now I'll never be the same" her fire lord placement and insanity changed her forever and she can't turn back.
I said nothing about that. I simply noted how the lyrics are very deep and powerful and the melody is... not. I also mentioned how the chorus is indistinct and rather anticlimactic for Azula, but what does that have to do with the lyrics?
I actually think it fits her perfectly. Azula was indeed very crazy, and most times, her emotions didn't fit her actions.
So for her to be say all this crazy, scary shit, back to back with a jazzy beat seems much like her
