    I'm a teacher of small children, as well as a Keynote tinkerer/hobbyist. This was a great start down a road I've wanted to follow. Keynote seems to me like a perfect platform to create interactive games for kids to learn English by clicking here and there, getting fun responses to right (or wrong) answers, and even perhaps having dynamic games such as can be found on some very expensive learning platforms. I love this video, and would love more of this kind of content that can help me get under the hood of Keynote.

      Thanks so much and love seeing it used in that way. Have a bunch more videos and will keep making content. Hope it helps.

    Hi, Steve. Great take on creating interactive slides. I sure hope a lot of people will consider that putting a little extra thought on design and animation goes a long way on creating a lasting impact. Will definitely apply these on my next presentation

      You are right that the little bit of extra presentation craft goes a really long way.

    Thank you, I use Keynote daily for several purposes and love to work with it! How did you do the change of the shape from the burger menu to the x? That's awesome!

    • @StephenGates
      @StephenGates  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It’s pretty easy.
      1 - Create two slides and use a magic move as a transition to move between then
      2 - On slide one create three rectangle shapes to create the hamburger menu
      3 - On slide two copy the hamburger menu you just made to this slide
      4 - Delete tree middle line and rotate the other two to 45 degree to made the close X
      Now when you play the slides it will go from the hamburger to the close menu

    This is a fantastic video! Thank you so much for sharing. Quick question, is there a way of exporting so that you can use the presentation on an actual phone (for a more realistic view)? Thanks, Grace

    • @StephenGates
      @StephenGates  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and I have done a lot of prototypes this way. Just lose the iPhone frame, resize the presentation to match the size of your phone screen and then run it from Keynote on your phone. You may have to make changes like changing some of the fonts into graphics but it is all pretty easy.

    Thanks Steven for these videos, already helped me a lot. I am just looking for one more thing. I teach first aid. For the cpr we have interactive manikins with an app that shows you how are you performing. Can I somehow have this app opened in keynote while presenting so that I dont have to leave the presenting mode everytime a I want to use it? Thanks a lot for your help! Vendy

    Great tutorial. You seem to really have a great working knowledge of Keynote, and I love using the program. However, there is a snag I have found. I have a PPT presentation that is a Matching Game. Everything transferred to Keynote except animation triggers--the ability to click on an object and have the animation specific to that object happen. Do you know of any workaround that I could use to still be able to still have trigger animation? Thanks in advance!

    • @StephenGates
      @StephenGates  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do. If you right click on the object > Add A Link > Slide you can make the object into a trigger which should make everything work again.

    Stephen, this is great. I have a quick question I hope you can help me with. How do you add that magnifier effect around the 4:24 mark? I really need this to zoom in on sections of my presentations for my students. Maybe you could do a video on this or just respond to this post. Cheers!

      it is an app called Pro Mouse that creates that effect. apps.apple.com/us/app/pro-mouse/id1505869474?mt=12

      @@StephenGates thanks for your quick answer, well I am making and E-Comerce so i learn how to make web site, but we are in the process of testing product and we want to keep a good branding, that´s why we decide to sell some products in our web site, facebook and instagram, and other product test in other way, like selling in whatsapp or email or opening other landing page in facebook. Thats why our need to make a good digital catalogue so we can send in most case in mobile way, right now i made a quick video and pdf. but i want to make a good looking work. Again thanks a lot for your time

    My guess is that the e-mail link is used when you are e-mailing the presentation as a report (rather than presenting it) and you want someone to just be able to click on the link on the contact info slide and e-mail you. Hopefully, they didn't spend more than an hour coding in that functionality.

  • @johnsonben6659

    Can it auto play without click?

    • @StephenGates
      @StephenGates  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can make the slides auto advance. If you want the transition you will see there is on ‘on click’ or automatic option in the s transition panel.
