I lived near El Cajon when this happened, and went to San Diego State at that same time. My roommates and I were terrified and made a pact not to pull over anywhere that was not in public view. They actually named that part of the highway in her honor. Such a sad story. Thank you for covering it and always being so compassionate with these cases.
Thank you Nicole! As much as I also like the new stories… there’s something about these older cases that I prefer! Also, I love the bonus background rain and thunder sounds😀!
Hi Nicole 🤗, thanks for covering this case,it was crazy. I think that Craig Payer was fighting/suppressing the urge to kill for a long time and finally with poor Cara,he couldn't fight it any longer and finally went through with it. Also, I KNOW if he hadn't been caught so quickly he, without a doubt, would've did it again. Just my thoughts. R.I.P. 🕊️ Cara Knott
You’re like an Aunty of mine who calms me down with spooky true crime stories thank you so much for all you do I truly appreciate YOU! I love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I stayed in El Cajon earlier this year for my cousin's wedding, which was the only place in the US I ever visited because I live in Europe. I was definitely not expecting to hear about it when I clicked on this video.
The pronunciation is "El Cuh-Hone". 😊 I was born in San Diego in 1985, by 2000/2001, when I was driving, my best friends uncle was a CHP officer(California Highway Patrol). Because of this case he always told us, if we are ever driving alone and see a sirens to NEVER pull over and always go to a well lit, populated area. We had cellphones by then, so he also told us if youre being pulled over you can call 911 to verify the validity (because that has to called in). This case has been engraved in my mind and how I view and protect my personal safety, to this day.
I love watching your videos whilst doing makeup 🫶🏻 perfect timing tonight. love your videos so much and I can tell that you really put in the effort with the research in every video xx
You are a lifesaver! I have my driving test tomorrow and need to sleep to be up for 6am! Thank you so much for posting so consistently on both channels..You’re a star ⭐️
I lived in SD when this happened. After learning it was an officer, a few women were arrested for not pulling over, until the highway patrol told us to drive to a safe place first. Now it's common practice.
My hometown and we went to same high school! Everyone was on edge and especially if you drove a VW. Super popular car in the 80’s! Pronounced El Cahone. Cajon. Thank you for doing this story. Reminder to always be on alert no matter what your circumstances are.
I'm not surprised that he didn't do physical harm to the first few women. I think he was developing his fantasy and summoning the courage. Unfortunately by the time he met Cary, he was ready to commit the crime. Also maybe something triggered him if she challenged him or refused to cooperate. It's so scary to think that killers sometimes hide behind a badge.
I started listening to this last night SUPER baked and I thought the stuffed bear was like a creepy doll with a messed up face and just listened to the sounds.
Love your videos and how consistent you are on this channel! Also random but if you don’t mind me asking, are you from the east coast? I live in CT and I just always get the vibe from your personality and voice that you’re also from somewhere in new england 😂
Nicole, I just had a really cool idea the other day I saw a video where you had the Pittsburgh mascot. I believe it was Pittsburgh and I think be really cool if you could get mascots of all the states that you cover and put it on the counter and when you say, our cases in whatever state that would give us an idea you could say hello to all my friends in that certain state. Just an idea cause I know that you have a lot of stuffed animals on the table and that would be really cool if you would put the mascot for that particular state you’re covering on the table, I’m using voice to text. Hope this comes out OK
Thanks for the cute idea. He is the mascot for the Philadelphia Phillies. I would love to use a mascot to represent each location I cover, but I don't own any others.
For them to move from Ventura county (one of the safest counties in California) to move to El Cajon one of the most unsafe counties in California that actually breaks my heart the police have done a lot of work to clean up that area but it’s still not a safe place last time I was in San ysidro these weird ass guys from the bar kept trying to push me to go to Tijuana with them it just felt so off
I guess he doesn't feel the need to take a dna test that will just prove he is guilty. Better in his mind for him to sit there and continue to say he didn't do it.

Thanks! Glad to hear it.
I’m loving the rain in the background
This happened in my home town. It was absolutely shocking and so sad. The bridge on the 15 by that exit now bears her name. 💔
And obtw- it’s El Cah-hone. 😍

Commenting to help! I think he really saw himself as untouchable and powerful. I'm glad those women called 💜
Thanks!

He gave you good advice. I'd say keep the doors locked and only open the window as wide as you need to.
I never realized you had highlights until now, they are so cute😮!! love the asmr❤❤
Thanks!
I thought teddy was a doll and freaked out for a second there! 😂
🤣
Did you think it was Robert the doll by any chance? 😂
Wait that’s not a doll??!!??
Your makeup looks FABULOUS!! I work nights and m favorite thing to do is to come home, take a shower, then put you on!

Thanks. I'll take a look.
Commenting 😊
Your ASMR voice is always so soothing, regardeless of the insanity of the cases. Thank you
😊 thank you
You are by far my most favorite asmr true crime channel, out there! But yeah the mic brushing is the best and love your voice!! ❤❤
Thanks!
Listen to you all the time. Great!
Thanks!
What a terrible crime.... May she rest in peace . ❤
♥️
I swear her teddy bear moved give me the chill
Well she is alive. It's hard for her to stay still that long.
I like when you do the older cases friend, like this one. I think you get more likes on the older cases in my opinion❤
Pink nail varnish on your nails will ad th final piece to this experience ❤
Thank you for video Nicole! ❤😊
You are so welcome!
Hi, yes ma'am I'm laying down ready to relax and fall asleep...your the best thank you ❤
Thanks!
Omg I’m 30 mins away from Ventura… these cases get closer and closer to me everyday, especially since they always seem to be coming from CA!
Yup. Lots from CA. But it is a huge state so that explains it.
This is so wild. You’re right, it couldn’t have been scripted this way if it weren’t true crime.
Awesome as always ❤
Thanks!
Looking gorgeous in this one Nicole! Something different. You have a glow about ya! 🥰
Thank you so much

Commenting to help you, love your vids sister!!! They help me sleep!
You're the best!
Great video. Gets me through work.
I'm so glad to hear it.
Oh wow! I always watch old videos (new subscriber) and I just realized this was uploaded two hours ago. Hahah, yay! Hi! 🤪
Thanks for watching!
I forgot her last name for a second and all I heard was “RIP to Cara…. NOT!” And I got so confused 😅 RIP to her and may her family see better days
I was born and raised in Ventura!💜🤗
😃
crazy crazy, who can we trust anymore ?:( I also liked the rain sounds. relaxing :D
I'd say most police are good, but you have to watch out for the crazy ones.
Love this channel
Thanks!
You look beautiful Nicole ❤ thank you for another great video
Thank you so much!
Was told to comment…. If I didn’t mind. I in fact do not mind. True crime time is the greatest at what she does.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Couldn't hear the rain, cool teddy 🧸
I started listening to this last night SUPER baked and I thought the stuffed bear was like a creepy doll with a messed up face and just listened to the sounds.
Wow. lol
He was arrested while I was just about finished being baked.
Where is everybody? Squishmellows at the beach?
You have hurt the feelings of Smurfy and Cookie by suggesting they are nobody.
I missed the Smurf. Thought Bear was on solo duty
🤣

Thanks! Long Island.
She's from El Cajon?! I live nearby. I'm only at the beginning of the video but I know exactly which case this is. It's very disturbing and angering.
Agreed!

We should all start sending Nicole our favorite Mascots 😂
Crazy things happen in California and Florida :/
❤
“El Cajón” is pronounced “el ka-HONE.” J in Spanish is pronounced like H.
Good job lady ❤
Thanks!
😴 ❤
Might I suggest adding rain sounds on purpose?
I have never been this early
Thanks for being early!!
Good grief! Sad sad sad.
Comment 😅
I love watching your videos
Glad you like them!
So bizarre would you do the case of Ruth Dorsey it's out of a small town near me
I'll check it out.
For them to move from Ventura county (one of the safest counties in California) to move to El Cajon one of the most unsafe counties in California that actually breaks my heart the police have done a lot of work to clean up that area but it’s still not a safe place last time I was in San ysidro these weird ass guys from the bar kept trying to push me to go to Tijuana with them it just felt so off
It wasn't the residents of the town that got to her though... it was a man who was supposed to protect and serve.
Will…not…fall….asleep…in the first…5…minutes…😴💤🛌 oops!
Sleep well.
I bet if he had submitted his DNA, they would have found other victims eventually. Likely high risk victims.
Could be.
😎🤙
Why he did that broadcast killers like to go back to the scenes of their crimes
Good point. I wonder if he didn't do the broadcast, would he have been found out?
You look so pretty Nicole
Thanks!
2nd!!
Yay!
1000th!!
Hmmm refused his DNA..wonder how many missing persons are missing with DNA on them
I guess he doesn't feel the need to take a dna test that will just prove he is guilty. Better in his mind for him to sit there and continue to say he didn't do it.
Whats your real hair look like?
Brown.
Really wanted to listen to this but the Mic touching shreds my nerves, like nails dragging down a blackboard.....shudder
Sorry.
I honestly don't understand what the thought process was when commenting this but sure
❤❤❤
