In this episode we're utilizing dolphin hunting strategy to find massive yellowfin tuna off the southern coast of Panama. As soon as we find the enormous pods of spinner dolphins, we're rewarded with INSANE topwater blowups by tuna the size of 4th graders.
Then, back at the lodge, we're teaching you how to make the ultimate Peruvian ceviche and a unique recipe called "leche de tigre," or tiger's blood.

What I've learned about lure fishing is to take *every* opportunity you can to throw topwaters. The spectacular takes and the heart-pounding excitement when they eat is one of the best fishing experiences you can have. More often than not, topwater also tends to attract the bigger members of the school.

Depending on which one he’s trying to catch, Gulf of Mexico has yellows in the 300 plus class and north east has blues 500-1000 pounds.

You know you're in Los Buzos when the poppers are bigger than most of the fish you normally catch. Great video and luckily that first tuna didn't rip Pio out of the boat.

Somedays watching these videos gives me anxiety. Me not returning is a situation controlled by the crayon eaters that run the country of Canada. Hell of a day/video and the excitement was contagious.
We’ve had numerous Canadians since we reopened post-covid without issue

Amazing fishery and awesome video! One suggestion would be to gill and gut the larger tuna and put those frozen bottles into the gut cavity of the fish as well as on top!! Thanks for the entertainment as always!! I hope I create the opportunity to fish Panama soon! Gotta get in on some action!!!

Dude! The Belly meat on the Tuna are the most highly regarded portions of the fish!!
Belly meat is always the BACON!!! also they need a bigger cooler and to learn IKEJIME to take better care of the meat especially with tuna since it overheats easily.
Ok so I did hear him correctly when he said screw the belly meat put the ice on the top. Yea the belly meat is called toro in Japan and is 10x the value of the top loins. The fatty meat melts in your mouth imo and is definitely the beat part for eating sashimi.

That's a serious case of the #fishgiggles And next time you do this, if you could somehow convince yourself to put the rod down for a minute, you should get that drone in the air. Topwater strikes from above shooting straight down look absolutely incredible!

That style of fishing really reminds me of here in California, the boats looking for "boils" of fish busting on the surface and the boat rolls up to the bait ball and the surface irons start flying to catch them yellowtails.

When we fished for dolphin fish (Known as Mahi-Mahi or Dorado) Not the mammal) out near the Pearl Islands in Panama, we once had six dolphins hooked at once! Four on rods and two on teaser lines.
Guys great fishing / catching! May think about getting new drags on both reels.

I used to fish like that in Costa Rica. This video makes me miss living down there! I caught 26 one morning. And in 2 days I caught enough fish to feed 100 people at my wedding, all tuna and 5 dorados. Good times!
By the way, ceviche made of freshwater fish was nasty when I tried tilapia ceviche in Costa Rica. Not even edible. But I'd love to try tuna ceviche. I ate lots of ceviche de pargo (snapper in Spanish) down there over the years. Ceviche is one of the many things I loved about living in that part of the world.

What you gatta do is bring some fillet knives.
Then you gut, behead, and de fin the tuna to get the core of it.
Then shove some ice in it’s gut cavity, may have fit then, if not then just field fillet it.
But you need some knives on you first, lol

Correct dude and by picking the stomach u drop the core and preserve the meat. If that isn’t possible u at least have to bleed the fish ASAP.
