    I’m so glad you did this video and didn’t figure it all first. This is the gluppy stuff I get. And I’m never exactly sure how to fix it. So Thank You! And I think I’m going to have to take class, because I really want to do blooms!

    Love your videos and how you show it is a process of understanding instead of a magic formula. This allows expanding one's own creativity instead of just copying someone else. You're never boring and watching your videos is like visiting a really kewl friend. Thank you for the beauty you create and the smiles you bring to my face.

    Thank you so much for this! I was getting so discouraged trying to master the bloom. Not even master...just come close. I'm not going to give up. I know I can do it. Thanks for getting me out of the pity party and for helping me not feel like a total failure. The explaining why the different products do what they do and how they interact with other products and why x + y will make Z instead of just a recipe that doesn't obviously work for every technique and every type of paint. You make logical sense out of the trial and error and what steps to take to try to correct issues and why. For me ,understanding what each product does, what its function is , makes a giant difference. So, again,thank you for helping me keep my sanity and my hair from bein pulled out. Love watchin you work your magic, from Dallas! Thanks😊

    Not boring at all. For those of us who are beginning painters it helps us understand how different paints work together or not😅. Also it gives me ammo to use against my husband when he complains about me spending all the money on expensive paints. Thanks for that. I am still trying to figure out a justification for the Aussi Floetrol. 😊

    You are such a gem Lisa! A scientific-type you may not be but you have common sense galore. My blooming journey has been fraught with 'pillow issues' mostly due to availability in France, manufacturer recipe changes and the radical changes in ambient temperatures of my home. Just wanted to mention that the last one you did looked a lot like the one I did using your Elmers glue/paint pillow recipe and Boomgels for my colors. Fantastic job - you always make me smile.

I've yet to try house paints, but have seen some of your other really helpful vids and think I'm going to give it a try. Many different artists recently ( from what I've personally seen on TH-cam) have used Flood Penetrol in replacement of Australia Floetrol so maybe you could try using that in your bloom experiments without house paint. I loved the tutorial by the way! I've been trying to find an alternative method to doing the bloom technique without house paints because of the mess and the smell so I hope it works out for you eventually! Much love from America! ❤️

    Lately if I need a black pillow paint I actually use the gloss gel/floetrol pouring medium mix and that seems to work pretty darn good. What's really ironic is that I actually started doing paint pouring this past January 2023 right around my 45th birthday and I gravitated towards the bloom I took the class and ironically I get the bloom and I got it quick but I can't do a decent ring pour or flip cup to save my life. As soon as I try to stretch it even on a spinner I end up with the wobbly line thing then again I don't think I've ever been good at doing anything in a straight line LOL

    I think this video was very interesting. I've watched some videos where they use regular paints and the floetrol with titanium white by amsterdam for CA, even just water with it. Tammy Anderson has done a lot of videos with blooms and regular paint. I think you showed a lot of us the progression quite well. I think the fact that you were using the cheaper paints made it harder. For the pillow especially Artist loft is known to eat paint.

    @Lisamarvin if you want your pillow to be more stretchy try the string medium by liquitex. Its extremely gooey so you can make long strings of paint. You can even get some raised lines if you like. But I'm digressing. It will make your pillow more stretchy. You'll have to play around with ratios. I wonder what will happen if you make the pillow really stretchy ..🤔🙃

  • @debrahaberman5592

    This was very interesting. Your experimentation is beneficial to all of us who are learning.
    I've been using the American floetrol mix of 10:1 and 9:1 for C/A with success. I may break down and order the aussie, but the shipping is a killer.
    Watching you try all the additives, and mixtures is quite fascinating to me. Certainly not boring.
    Ty for your insight, patience, and skill.

  • @death057
    @death057 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bet for that pseudo pillow paint if you were to have added either golden tar gel or liquitex string gel it would make a big difference because the pillow paint always seems to be more stringy if that makes sense. Maybe if you do this again you can experiment with one of those I personally love both the tar gel and the string gel

    So, what we discovered was that the craft paint was inadequate for the job and to probably avoid it no matter how cheap you can buy it, it’s false economy , better to put that money towards buying decent house paint for the pillow or a better mixing medium. As I struggle to get Aussie Floetrol in the UK, I just use 1:1 Amsterdam Titanium White or Amsterdam Lamp Black paint to water and that gives me great cells . But thank you , I don’t buy craft paint any more . Those kits you get for £30 give you a taste of what’s possible but you quickly outgrow their possibilities . Research is all and things that worked yesterday may not work today . 🤷‍♀️that’s fluid art for you !
