आज देश भर में छठे चरण के लिए लोकसभा की 58 सीटों पर मतदान हुआ. जिसमें दिल्ली की सात सीटें भी शामिल हैं. इस दौरान न्यूज़लॉन्ड्री के रिपोर्टर दिनभर ग्राउंड पर मौजूद रहे. अवधेश कुमार पूर्वी दिल्ली, अनमोल प्रितम उत्तर पूर्वी दिल्ली और सुमेधा मित्तल ने नई दिल्ली और दक्षिणी दिल्ली से यह चुनाव कवर किया.
हमने यहां लोगों से दिल्ली के मुद्दों, अधिक गर्मी और पहली बार वोट डाल रहे मतदाताओं से बात की. जानने की कोशिश की कि उनके लिए क्या बातें मायने रखती हैं.
चुनाव आयोग ने मतदाताओं को गर्मी से बचने के लिए मतदान केंद्रों पर उपलब्ध कराई जाने वाली सुविधाओं पर 13 पेज के दिशा-निर्देश जारी किए. हमने मतदान केंद्रों का दौरा कर जाना कि इन दिशानिर्देशों को लागू किया गया है या नहीं. साथ ही जाना कि गर्मी का मतदाताओं पर कितना असर रहा.

I have a query, why was the polling so slow? I am a heart patient and literally I had to ask for early voting of mine as I was unable to stand for long in the queue, that too after standing in the queue for approximately 30 minutes. Why not a separate queue for senior citizens or people having ailments. This time I was told that this time police and para military forces are withdrawn and people from different departments like DJB, DDA, TEACHERS etc were deployed for controlling the people as well as for loading of EVM machines into the buses etc. My humble question to ECI, what if the machines are not exchanged at any juncture during their transportation!! This time I feel, elections are not honest.

This is something I noticed earlier. The more affluent population seems to support the BJP. Became they're so out of touch and lack empathy. They don't care as long as they're comfortable. And yes, if you are rich enough, of the right religion, right caste and gender (aunty age mein gender factor becomes less relevant) BJP can be great for you.
But even if you're well off and comfortable and not blind, talk to your own house help, auto drivers, uber drivers, sabjiwalas, security guards, electricians, plumbers and so on, you get to know the ground reality. The issues aren't just statistics. These are people you know and probably see often. Then you think of the millions like them.
Then you don't vote for yourself. You vote for the country.
(You also give yourself anxiety but... that's a separate issue)
