They’re advanced and capable of intricate movements because Afton Robotics is cutting edge, and that liveliness makes them not scary. At the same time it’s not sci-fi, it’s still jerky and you can still hear the clinking and whirring.

The others ones are like “hey kids how are-I’m going to kill you- you t-today!” Like they’re supposed to be completely normal during the day but haunting the place at night with the exception of FNAF 2 where someone actually tampered with them so they just stare at adults but other than that they’re completely functional and normal during the day
I actually like seeing them do a real performance for once. It contextualizes why kids would find them fun and parents find them normal in a family restaurant setting. I wish we saw that more often in the original games. IMO, it also makes the horror more scary, since the psychological whiplash you get from seeing them be cute and funny until they suddenly turn into twisted monsters makes it all the more unsettling, like watching your gentle grandma choke someone out in cold blood.
