The song itself tells about a young officer and a young girl he meets in a pleasure district. The young officer is brought there by his commanding to see the popular dancer. The man (Len) is attracted with the girl (Rin) who is dancing beautifully. He soon gets attracted by her. Driven by desire, the two dance together. Rin fells in love with Len who simply thinks that love is just an illusion. But since he feels a bit guilty for the girl, he lies and says that he loves her. Rin realizes that Len is jusy lying to her but deep in her heart, she really falls in love with him. But in the end, Len realizes that he really falls in love with Rin. But both of them can't express their true feeling (Len still doubts his own feeling, whether it's a fake or not). Len finally decides to end his feelings. Rin actually still loves him but she realizes that their separation is a fate and she knows that asking for love to him is just impossible. The two separate in the end.

@@francisp3709 I searched about them and found out that they were not siblings or lovers, Rin and Lens names were created with the purpose of the two being the same person, but a mirror version of themselves, one boy and one girl. Rin depicts the right side and Len the left. Kagami in their name means "mirror" while Ne in their name means "sound". So they're name literally translated to "left and right mirrored sounds". They are both voiced by the same female actress, with Len's voice being given a male version of Rin's original female voice. In an interview with Crypton Inc., the creators of Len and Rin, they say that the two were meant as two people who share the same soul and are the same person with opposites of each other that work well together.

well if you're a shipper you could check songs like: promise ring, fire flower(especially in the novels), maid factor, romeo and cinderella(their cover), suki kirai. If you're looking more for non-ship songs (which mostly are having less plot but the vibe's really happy) there are: childish war, bring it on, electric angel...They actually have a lot more, it's just that most of their popular songs are the bad-end ones and most of their famous producers are the ones who likes to write sad stories. Why tho??? :'(
@Kagamine Rin That's why I separated them into two categories, and some of them actually have plot, just not an obvious or important one... And they aren't ship songs. But you're right, we definitely need more happy-ending kagamine songs, especially when half of them are already covers.
@Kagamine Rin I think it's fair to classified them into the shipping ones and the non-ship ones, 'cause I tried to sort their non-tragedy songs, many of them don't or barely have a plot (well there's the pv and the lyrics, tho not an official story) but you can still see that they're happy endings (Happy Marriage Yellow, gouzhiqishi) and some others are having a plot but it's hard to count them as happy endings (electric angle, childish war). Tho I don't know what other fans think.
