They turned the Kpop world full of cute concepts upside down. They were also a group who wasn't seen as 'traditionally' pretty. Blackpink on the other hand are debuting in an era where literally every concept has been done. As a blackjack and Blackpink Stan, I like both groups, but nothing will ever compare to 2NE1's debut. I remember staying up very late to watch this MV drop back in 2009 for this first time. The anticipation YG built around this group was (is) unmatchable--I was on Kpop forums daily talking about Lollipop, their teaser images, any news, and finally their audio teasers. This MV was seriously one of the best things I'd seen at the time: their image, their attitude, their sound, their feel.... totally different. Dara's part especially, with the fire and the hand dance and Indian sound, was my favorite. Their MV were top notch. I think they started the whole thing with high quality futuristic sets, lights, and expensive outfits/props.

I miss old kpop. This song was still popular back 2012-13 even it's released 2009, i used to dance with song back then. I didn't even know this and gangnam style was from kpop and is korean. (I thought it was american music, im so dumb) 1st and 2nd generation of kpop is still the best. PERIODICALLY.

I remember staying up very late to watch this MV drop back in 2009 for this first time. The anticipation YG built around this group was (is) unmatchable--I was on Kpop forums daily talking about Lollipop, their teaser images, any news, and finally their audio teasers. This MV was seriously one of the best things I'd seen at the time: their image, their attitude, their sound, their feel.... totally different. Dara's part especially, with the fire and the hand dance and Indian sound, was my favorite. Their MV were top notch. I think they started the whole thing with high quality futuristic sets, lights, and expensive outfits/props.
