Trent is amazing. Even on the not so great albums there were a couple of great tracks. Broken & Fixed, especially Fixed are my favorites.
I remember when March of The Pigs video came out and when Trent slapped the mix at the end I cracked up. I recorded that to VHS, such a long time ago but still a killer song.
NIN was unique, not Ministry, not Front 242 or KMFDM, but like a form of Industrial/Electro-Industrial/Metal. Not really defined by any genre.
I should check and see if I still have my Pretty Hate Machine cassette in my box of misfit albums.

I know this is 3 years later, but this is based off the josh freese live version, not the original version, thats why it sounds much more aggressive. Not saying its a bad thing, just saying thats why it sounds different to the album version.
@@Mephiston I always preferred Freese's rendition of this. As much as I love Ilan, I felt like Josh was the perfect fit and I was bummed when he left.

Years ago I had a chat with Martin Atkins, who was the session drummer on the NIN release of Wish, at the time. I had mentioned that this was one of my favorite drum intros of all time. He then shared a little nugget of trivia. That, intro from :30 to :50 is actually an interpretation/inspiration from “ballroom blitz” by Sweet. He was just kind of playing around and feeling out some beats in the studio. And if you listen closely, you can definitely hear it. In fact, now that you know this, you probably can’t unhear it. 😂😂

Maybe my favorite one yet! This one had more of a jam session feel to it - faithful to the original but not a copy, just Delta jamming out.
I'm sure it actually took a lot of planning and practice to come up with this, especially the way Delta's accents and personal touches flow just so well with the song. Wow!
