They did later in 2020; American Airlines and Brazil's GOL Airlines resumed MAX operations, Alaska Airlines added more MAX orders (primarily to replace some of the A320 jets inherited from Virgin America due to COVID), and United took deliveries. Southwest stated that the 737 MAX will return once the crew is trained with confidence.
